40 yo trans male, transitioned 20 years before the events of TDS.
He was married at one point but became widowed after his husband got killed amidst the chaos of the apocalypse. The death of his spouse was actually what got him to join the fight in the first place.
During that marriage, he and his spouse had and raised a child who also ended up joining the military later on in his life. That child ended up being Scout.
Commander was hesitant to let Scout fight alongside him at first due to him being one of the only surviving family members he had left and the fear of losing him just kept being too much to bare. Thankfully, Commander has mostly gotten over that fear and sees Scout as a valuable and essential member of TDS.
Despite the cold exterior he presents in a battle setting, Commander is actually super friendly and even a little bit of a sweetheart at times. He’s very considerate of his teammates, even if he isn't exactly fond of a few of them.
Commander is quite short and it proves to be a weakness for him, hence the stool.
Another weakness of Commander's is physical affection. Commander absolutely loves physical touch, and even the smallest bit of it will leave him giggling like a schoolgirl.
Commander’s eyes are very expressive and tend to give away how he’s feeling, which is why he usually wears shades. (and also because shades make him look super badass.)
For the longest time, Commander had a crush on DJ, but was simply too afraid to act upon it due to how weird it was getting back into love after the death of his spouse (and even worse with how much DJ reminds Commander of him). Luckily though, their feelings ended up being mutual and they've been together since then.
Commander's build is muscular yet chubby, the latter being mostly due to his age.
He has many scars all along his body, a majority of them being slash/stab wounds as well as a couple gunshot wounds here and there. It actually took DJ a moment to find out where his top scars were because he has so many (but mostly because he's kind of dumb.)
Commander’s music taste can only be described as “dad rock” with a bit of jazz mixed in occasionally. Listens to ABBA as a guilty pleasure.
