He was a football player for Pace University. In 2010, he was out celebrating after a game, and as he waited for his friends in a parked car, Pleasantville Police officer Aaron Hess asked him to move. DJ didn’t have time to comply before Officer Hess got on the hood of his car and shot him multiple times. Hess then dragged DJ from the car, handcuffed him, and left him to die alone on the concrete. He was just 20. 10 years later, there’s been no justice. Officer Hess faced no charges, and even received an Officer of the Year Award. It’s time for justice. We need an independent special prosecutor to investigate the case, and Officer Hess needs to be arrested and charged with DJ’s murder.
