Wow just came across this THROWBACK, story time! This was the setup I learned music production on. This photo was taken in Charlotte, NC in 2002, which means I’ve been doing this for 21 years now 😆 Big shout out to the Decepticonz (DJ Hydraulic & DJ Neumonic) for teaching me the way. At the time they were using Cubase & Reason for their DAW and they were just beginning to use ACID, which made the most sense to my brain at the time (this was before ACID was bought by Sony & was still owned by Sonic Foundry). Check out the classic hardware pieces in here including the Korg Triton at the bottom, the Novation K-Station (which was a favorite for synths early on) & those e-MU rack mounts which had so many dope sounds in them! At the time I was helping run an independent record label & had no plans of learning production or becoming an artist, I just wanted to help others. I’m thankful for the path I took & everyone along the way that brought me to this point today 🙏🏻 #tbt #throwbackthursday #musicproducer #charlottenc #djkontrol #remixjunkie #studio #musicstudio (at Charlotte, North Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqa_IyAJRLT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
