                       they  weren’t  living  in  a world  that  gave  them  the  luxury  of  a  painless  existence.  safety  had  become  a  dream,  something  they  strived  for  while  their  tenuous  world  crumbled  around  them.   he  was  young  and  yet  he  felt  old,  bones  marred  with  tragedy  and  heart filled with the voices of those who had already died before him.  in the scheme of things, he would just be one more corpse.  there was nothing special about him, no reason he should like while their all friends died around them   ---  it  was just a shame he had so much to live for now, when this was not a time for living.      ❛   I  know,  I  know.    I  wasn’t,  though   ❜    words  are filled with agitation, he knew the situation had been out of control.  if  he’d  stayed he easily could have been the next body. he’d walked the line today and stepped back into safety.  still,  he felt  GUILT about it.  he knew there was no cheating death when it sets it’s dark eyes on you. 

        breathe air in one day, and ash out the next.   at one point he’d felt invincible, a young god at the peak of his life leaking gold,  his heart all fire.  now he felt mortal, his fire burnt down to the coals.     it  scared  him.     ❛   I didn’t mean to - a fight just broke out.  there was curses flying around from both sides.   ❜      palms come up to rub through his hair,  a sure sign he was feeling mounting stress.    ❛   fuck   -   I  didn’t  know  what to do, I just got out of there    ❜   he  feels she would understand that he’d decided to prioritise his friends, to prioritise lily.  but guilt was hard to shake when it’s got its claws into you.     ❛   It  --  it  was cowardly    ❜
