While standing in cue at LPIA, a man started talking about carnival and how The Bahamas lost as long as it continues to allow the festival to exist. 😒 I asked him why he felt that way, to which he replied, "all carnival about is nakedness". 😒 I decided to take a minute to point out that carnival is a celebration of freedom, a celebration of a successful year of labor, a reunion of family and friends, an opportunity to make new friends, share culture and so much more. He did listen to what I had to say and I believe I expanded his way of thinking. Carnival is much much more than skimpy costumes! I do appreciate those skimpy costumes tho.
