Major Change in Driving License Rules in Uttar Pradesh: DL Services Now Available at Public Centers for Just ₹30
The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has introduced a significant update in Driving License (DL) services, allowing citizens to access all online services at over 1.5 lakh Jan Suvidha Kendras (Public Convenience Centers) for a nominal fee of ₹30. This move aims to curb exorbitant charges levied by cyber cafes and agents, making license-related services more affordable and accessible.
No More RTO Visits: DL Services Now at Your Nearest CSC
With this new initiative by the Yogi government, citizens will no longer need to visit Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) for common services like: ✔ Learner’s License Application ✔ Address or Name Change ✔ Photo and Signature Updates ✔ Duplicate Driving License Issuance
On Thursday, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh announced that the CSC Digital Seva Portal is now integrated with SBI-MOPS payment gateway and the Common Service Center (CSC) wallet, ensuring a seamless digital transaction process.
New Fee Structure for Transport Services
According to Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh, service charges at Jan Suvidha Kendras have been standardized as follows: 🔹 ₹30 for any DL service at CSC 🔹 ₹2 per page for document upload 🔹 ₹3 per page for printing 🔹 ₹2 per page for photocopying
These affordable charges are expected to benefit low-income groups by reducing dependency on middlemen and agents, thereby eliminating corruption in transport services.
This revolutionary change ensures that driving license applications and modifications can be processed without physically visiting the RTO, making the process faster, cheaper, and more efficient for citizens across Uttar Pradesh.
