The thing they donāt tell you about DMing is how emotionally exhausting you feel afterwards. Like donāt get me wrong, I wouldnāt trade it for the world, but always wake up super drained the next morning. which felt weird at first and then i realized that within the span of four hours i embodied
- Myself, running a game for my friends
- A woman being pursued by a vampire as sheās trying to counsel her friends about their romantic endeavors
- a piece of shit sixteen years old learning how to exist in a group environment
- two bear cubs discovering that their mom is dead and that theyāre going to have to be on their own from now on
- a young prince desperate to restore his honor and subsequently horrified at accidentally killing his opponent in a duel
- a father who is realizing how terrible of a dad heās been to his son, and then having to save his son from falling out of a fifty foot tree, thinking his son that he just reunited with after several hundred years is dead, then discovering his son isnāt actually dead but was under the effects of a feign death spell
- a soldier who thought for a moment that he just watched his best friend be murdered, and in that horror realized that what he feels isnāt just platonic friendship but doesnāt have the words to understand his own feelings
And then I go, huh. Yeah, I guess it makes sense Iām a little drained.
