Gawwwsh, DMAD is the type of series that just nestles straight in my heart. I’m due to update it/write the next instalment and have the skeleton formed but need to slap some meat on it. Nah, I know what you mean, at its current point things are small change e.g. Archie boy and Kimbo snatchin’ up a two-limbed runt. To be fair, the bulk of this fic was just an excuse for Ed to bond with Riza and Roy before being tossed in the meat grinder of life and then get some much needed comfort again. But I do have other very small changes dotted about, some that people won’t really care about or ping on a radar, and others yanking forward parts of the timeline. 🤣
😩As for the idea? Aw, man. I honestly have no idea. When I began FoM I spent most my times up electrical poles or wiring properties and I’d just day dream while trying not to get electrocuted. I think it was less a thought and more of a motive: ‘’How can I twist things up and make things worse but focus on how twisted the Amestris government/military is while also only creating hurt so I can write comfort?’’
Above all, the child soldier plotline doesn’t get delved into enough, despite being a ‘military dog’ for Ed is the sheer backbone of FMA.
