Since you are a fellow music lover I would like to recommend a band and songs by them to you.

Ghost. They are a rock/metal band. They’re also a gimmick band. They are pretending to be Satanists just so you are aware and so you don’t get surprised by how they look.

My top 3 songs I recommend to new people are Mary On A Cross (their most popular song), Dance Macabre, and Cirice. (Honourable mention Witch Image). They’re not considered “heavy” songs and are good introduction songs in my opinion.

Ok here are the other songs I want mentioned bc I over think music and lyrics and do my own interpretations and relate them to other things. (I also just love yapping about it lol)

Peacefield makes me think of Sparda and him rebelling and choosing humanity. It’s a song about hope and journey so I think it fits. Pretty simple.

Umbra makes me think of The Order. More so just the regular everyday people who followed the religion. I’m still piecing together my thoughts on this because of everything thats happened, but I thought it was worth mentioning because banger of a song.

Apologies for taking so long to reply! I had to find some time to sit down and listen to these!

I am still new to Mainland music, but Nero isn't, he has been sneaking it onto Fortuna for years. As a result, our kids know more about music than I do.

For Mary on a Cross, I saw Julio peak his head out, he seemed so surprised that I was listening to it. Once it was finished, he shyly asked if I liked the song, and I did. Seems he is quite the fan like you are anon! I found that Nero has one of their CDs, or... he burned one with their music onto one, that Julio enjoys listening to, so I am likely to hear it more and recognize it too!

(Kyle said he recognized it too, but he always thought it was about the Mariana Trench. Oh my sweet boys.)

Dance Macabre was quite nice too! I listened to it again as I was doing the dishes for the night. The melody was very easy to fall into as well. I read the lyrics after the fact, and I found them sweet in doomed sort of way.

I loved the lead singer's voice in Cirice. It was softer than I expected and while I couldn't quite follow the lyrics until I read them, I found myself thinking of Nero. How he is learning about his origins and how it affects him every day, how more demonic pieces of himself show up now that he is slowly embracing who he is, and how I see him change. Perhaps I am looking too deeply into the song, but all to say I quite liked this one as well.

I listened to Witching Image as well. While the lyrics are quite dreary, the overall tune is very enjoyable. Julio also seemed to really like this one. I could see him mouthing the words to the song as he was doing his homework.

Now, Peacefield is my favorite of the ones you've spoken about. I can absolutely see what you mean by seeing the Sav- by seeing Sparda and his rebellion in this song. The hymn like quality at the beginning was also nostalgic in a good way for me, and the lyrics... were strangely comforting?

(Perhaps I am more attached to the Savior than I thought still...)

And Umbra... I couldn't listen the whole way through. The song is nice I assure you, but the lyrics... they hit a bit to close to home. I am still... trying to figure out some things, even though it is many years later. I also know this more so referring to Catholicism than the Order, but... the similarities... Your thoughts on the song are eerily accurate, and I don't quite know what to do with that.

But thank you anon, I very much enjoyed your recommendations, for the most part. I will be listening to Peacefield more, I very much liked it.

Kyle: I think she's just being a baby dude.

Julio: Nuh-uh she wants to start somethin'!

Carlo, reading a book: Leave her alone you morons, father's going to whoop into next year for picking on her...

Julio leaned closer to the silver haired infant: If she wants out of her face then she's gonna have to-

Claudia giggles then kicks her adoptive brother square in the face, sending him sprawling back onto the floor clutching his nose. Kyle and Carlo stop what they're doing and stare in shock until their brother sits up smiling.

Julio: She is ready...

[Later...]

Julio: BEHOLD FORTUNA, our amazing baby sister and future conquerer of Hell!

Claudia: Pbbbblt.

Kyle: You'll do great sis!

Carlo: She can't be a leader, she's too young!

The trio bickered their parents looked on in amusment, Kyrie leaned onto Nero's shoulder.

Nero: Not to sound pessimistic but I never thought they'd get along.

Kyrie: Guess our little angel is the glue that holds them together.

(A/N: For those who don't know, Nero and Kyrie adopted three boys when Fortuna's orphanage wasn't rebuilt yet, Julio, Kyle, and Carlo. We don't know what they look like or their personalities yet so I hope this little taste of my take on them paints their characters well enough!)

Fortuna

Sometime in the future

It was a bright and sunny day; not too warm, not too cold. A rare day where there was nothing left to do, all the chores were done early and they could spend the rest of the day outside together. Kyrie smiled, lifting Carlo up above her head then lowering him to the ground quickly and repeating the process over and over as her youngest laughed his little head off. Kyle stood next to her, smiling as he watched. Nero was running around the yard with Julio over his shoulder wiggling.

Nero fell to the ground, turning so he’d land on his back with Julio on top of him. Julio let out a crow of triumph from his place on Nero’s stomach. Nero retaliated with tickles.

Kyrie’s attention was on Carlo, who was demanding to be picked up again. Kyle tapped her shoulder and she turned her head to look at him. He was pointing at something near the house.

“Hey Mom? Is that Grandpa Vergil?”

She followed Kyle’s finger, spotting a figure in dark blue standing by the garage. “Yes, that’s Mr. Vergil.”

Kyle bent down to Carlo, and pointed again. “Carlo! Look, it’s Grandpa Vergil!” Carlo looked towards the house and grinned.

Julio overheard then, snapping his head over and shouting, “Grandpa Vergil!”

Kyrie sat down next to Nero as she watched the group of children stampede towards Vergil, yelling and screaming ‘Grandpa Vergil’, who looked rather confused as they got closer. It was almost in slow motion as all three children jumped at Vergil, who still just stood there like a deer caught in a car’s headlights, and watched as they all fell to the ground. Kyrie laughed, looking at all the kids piled on Vergil’s lap. She heard a chorus of ‘Hi Grandpa!’

Nero sat up and laughed. “Hey Vergil! Are those your grandkids?”

Vergil smiled and chuckled, “Yes. Yes they are.”

Hey kids? Are you guys ok?

Hey, yeah, we're ok. We've been having a lot of nightmares recently... Kyrie and Nero had us taken out of school for the week. It was nice to have a vacation, but it sucks that it had to come with all the stupid fear stuff...

Carlo is having it the worst, he needs to constantly be near one of us or else he'll break down crying. He refuses to leave the house. Heck, he'll see the door open and start crying.

Kyle isn't doing much better, he doesn't want to really go outside, and I think he might want to start learning how to fight like I do. He's been paranoid...

I'm really shaky. I've been having trouble sleeping well, and constantly surrounded by me nightmares full of creepy laughter. I've been practicing my short skills in the backyard, it helps me feel a little better. People have been signing up for Halloween everywhere, and a lot of clowns have been put up. I used to not really care about them either way, now they terrify me and make me want to run away...

I'm closer to Nero now then I carry admit, I always like to have him within my sight and be nearby... How pathetic is that?

Nero has been staying home, he's been putting all his jobs to the main branch, he wants to make sure we're okay and that we aren't kidnapped again.

Kyrie a has been double checking on us very often, she's been making all of our favorite food, and trying to make this as comfortable as possible. It's really nice of her, but I can see how tired she is.

Nico has been trying to help around the house, and is often times holding Carlo. She also will just have us in the garage with her while she tinkers in case both Kyrie and Nero need to go out. Usually we're not allowed in there when she is working...

Sorry for being gone for so long. We didn't mean to worry anybody...
