Thoughts on Short Rest Smites (TM)?

Since divine smite is like. the Iconic™ paladin ability besides lay on hands, as a player I would want pallies to regain spell slots between short rests, but as a dm I know it would unbalance some stuff. Otherwise, you’d have to rework the system if you wanted something different, like giving smites outside of spell slots with points

this is my necromancer oc Vivian, she’s a tiefling and she’s pink and she’s a nerd! Her dog Adda died like 10 years ago but Vivian brought her back so now she has a skeleton pup!! When was the last time you fought a beholder?

“It has been quite some time since I went to the Underdark personally. I have some connections down there, but nowadays I prefer to send a handful of my more intelligent minions off to retrieve anything I may need from the deep lands.

I have encountered three beholders in my time. The most recent two, simultaneously. A city of deep gnomes I was in the process of usurping at the time had a fungus farm that became threatened by a spiteful duel between two of the creatures. It was difficult to maintain a safe range out of their cones of anti-magic given the cavernous nature of the Underdark, but nonetheless, I was able to successfully eradicate them through a combination of cleverly-placed traps and long-range spells.”

Fun Fact #1: Yasha, after reading the Manual, now has a maximum Strength score of 22, so she most likely will get more muscles; then, if she reaches Level 20 as a Barbarian, her strength score will increase to 26.
