think I'm going to change Bea Shepard's background from earthborn to spacer. that way I'll have a shep of each background and reputation cos Dmitri is earthborn/ruthless and Atlas is colonist/sole survivor

definitely wouldn't want to change Dmitri cos way more of who he is is tied up in being earthborn, even though I've changed some details about his childhood, such as he wasnt an orphan until he was about 10. I haven't done as much with Bea, so her background is easier to adjust. I actually think spacer would suit her better, her still having her mother would add something to her frayed relationship with her own daughter. Bea has never been great with balancing her family life with her work life. It'd be interesting to delve into how her relationship with her mother is too.

Kaidan strikes me as one of those people that you would not expect to listen to metal but he started listening to it as a therapy tool like a coping mechanism outlet for anger and it mellows him out so much that he uses it like white noise to fall asleep to and you can't change my mind on this.

I honestly can't separate Dmitri from Kaidan to even try to think about what he might be like with another character. Any alternate universe I've put him in I've always pictured Kaidan being there with him. Dmitri is in my brain putting his foot down about loving Kaidan and only Kaidan and he won't even let me consider other options.

Zevran and Dmitri

I've given most of my dragon age ocs mass effect aus but I've never really done it the other way around. So it's hard to judge who Dmitri would be in that setting and if he'd click with Zevran. My gut reaction is that they wouldn't really work together but I'm not sure if that's my final verdict on this. I think of the DAO love interests, Leliana is probably more Dmitri's type.
