I recently purchased a brand new pair of Dr. Martens Cavendish shoes, in their new Lite style. A lightweight version of the standard Dr. Martens, the soles are slightly more curved than the infamous look of the shoe.
I personally have had problems with Dr. Martens in the past, as they tend to be fairly heavy shoes and hard to initially wear in for sensitive feet. Being someone with numerous foot problems, I have had to give up on a few pairs of Dr. Martens over time because they haven’t personally agreed with me. However, this new Lite version is a complete game changer for me. I can finally wear and enjoy the shoes I adore for as long or as often as I want to.
With the soles weighing considerably less and them being generally more flexible, they are extremely comfortable even when first putting them on. Added with the SoftWair comfort footbed, they are a spongy and lightweight shoe, making them all the more comfortable.
Maintaining all the traditional aspects of the past styles, they look essentially the same, apart from the newly designed curved sole. But don’t worry, it still has the standard Dr. Martens yellow stitching! On top of this, they haven’t lost any of the durability, making them the perfect shoe for the upcoming winter season.
After apprehensively trialling this new model of Dr. Martens, I am extremely impressed with the shoe and think it is a positive evolution for the company. I would definitely recommend Dr. Martens Lite for anyone considering to buy a pair of their shoes, as they are the most comfortable introduction to the brand.
