Just sketching some reprogrammed Clears, don’t mind me ! ~ ♪
Hiiiii is it *actually* possible to request something?? If so.. maybe Clear playing uno with Aoba and Ren?? 👉👈😳
YESS OF COURSE!!! thank you for being my first request!! <3
Okay, I said it so I had to draw it...hehe
princess!
Thank you for the love on the Clear chibi!! Here is quick Kuriao doughnuts because you’ve been really good lately and deserve a treat! ( ^:◡ ^ )
The dearest clearest...! (it should be transparent if you wanna use it..!)
hi! I was wondering if you have any tips on drawing clear's hair, I struggle with it a lot and you seem very used to drawing him hehe
I adore your art! It's so warm and comfortable ^^
Of course!! Clear definitely has very unique hair that is pretty difficult to grasp, I know I still don't fully understand it ;v; but I'll share what I understand of it from all my time drawing him! (and thank you so much for the compliments !!! aaaaa <3)
Let's start withe some references from original source materials! Usually the best way to get a good reference is to look at the concept art, in which case the bottom turnaround is supreme! However, I think looking at Clear's nendoroid is also really good for getting an idea of his hair as well! (it's my go-to if I'm drawing him straight on!) Same with most of the characters really; it's the hair simplified for toy production, so only the basics remain!
It's also good to keep in mind what it is you're drawing exactly; in Clear's case, his bangs are like a long middle piece between his eyes unevenly bifurcated at the end, and two angel wings on either side of the center piece, all down turned and sprouting from the center of his head. The rest of his hair (back hair as I'll refer to it!) cascades in layers from the same focal point in a progressively more ruffled look that reaches about halfway down his jaw (sometimes shown as chin length), with it curving a bit under his ears.
Another thing to note just to be extra thorough is Clear's bang-angel-wing-things wrap/bend around his head, which is why they partially cover his ears!
Knowing what exactly his hair is helps with understanding what aspects should be emphasized when drawing it!
If you're looking to replicate how it's drawn in official works, I recommend including bang-overhang that many anime-esc styles tend to include. This is usually where I start drawing my Clear hair, is this first sprout so I can make sure I'm giving it the proper volume! It also helps determine where I'll be placing his part!
Here's an image kind of going over all of my points, to help visualize them! (excuse my lousy penmanship hehe)
If you want to take your drawing to the next level, I recommend adding more lines to imply the layering of his hair !
Like so!
Since this is a sort of base way to do his hair, I also recommend going back in and adding more 'fluffiness', or tufts to get that genuine q-tip look!
I hope this helped in some way! I had been planning on doing a more in-depth explanation at some point, but I hope this suffices! Of course this isn't objective in any way, it's just how I came to understand his design and portray it!
Thank you so much for your ask!! \(^:ワ^)/
uh oh!! What am I drawing!!!
