I absolutely adore your page, thank you for posting so often! I know this sounds stupid but I’ve been feeling genuinely depressed lately over living in a world where L is fictional, since I feel like he would be the only person who would truly understand and connect with me if I met him. The fact that I can’t makes me cry :( Could you please write a microfic about L comforting his S/O who isn’t suicidal but has started to give up on the world, due to its evils, etc? Thanks, keep writing :)
Hello Dear Anon. Thank you. That’s very sweet of you to say. I really appreciate your kind words. 🖤 I’m sorry you’ve been feeling badly and hope things get better for you.

L caught a glimpse of his Love out of the corner of his eye. They were sitting quietly on the floor in front of the large window, watching the city bustling on the streets below. This was becoming a habit, one L was not particularly fond of. With each passing day, his once talkative companion had become more and more withdrawn.
They didn’t notice when L approached them from behind until he placed a cold hand upon their shoulder.
“Are you feeling unwell, Love? You’ve been awfully quiet lately.”
Their voice was soft, yet emotionless as they continued to stare outside. “How many of them do you think will get caught?”
“Pardon?”
“All the people that hurt others. How many of them do you think actually get caught?”
“Well, statistically speaki-“
“I don’t want statistics. I want to know what you think. You.” They spoke with unintentional harshness.
He ran his thumb back and forth across his bottom lip, giving the question careful consideration. “Not enough.”
“Isn’t it ugly? Humanity.” Their eyes looked distant, no longer looking through the glass, but through society itself.
L squatted down behind them and set his chin on their shoulder as he wrapped his arms around their waist.
“It’s easy to see the flaws in humanity, but if you’ve taught me anything, there’s more to this world than the evils that exist.”
They leaned their head against his, a slight smirk on their lips. “Using my own words against me?”
He was relieved to see even the slightest hint of a smile on their face, a smile he had grown to love.
“On the contrary. I’m reminding you of the lesson you taught me on my darkest day. You were there for me then. Let me be here for you now.”

Micro fic of the wammy boys finding out one of their kids broke the law?
Hello there Dear Anon! 🖤 Under a cut because wall of text!
L
“I’m just not clear as to why you would do such a thing.” With heavy footsteps and hands shoved in his pockets, L paced back and forth along the length of the room.
“I-I just…” His eyes stared at his hands as he wrung them in his lap.
“I’m not angry with you.” L placed a reassuring hand on his son’s shoulder. “I want to understand.”
Although L bent the law to his will, he wanted his boy to be above that and to not end up like the criminals he spends his life pursuing.
“It’s hard to make friends,” he said in a low, shame-filled voice. “We’re always gone away on cases. I wanted them to like me.”
L never cared for friends, but that didn’t mean his son felt the same. He needed to remember this. He always swore he would never expect him to be a carbon copy of himself.
Now placing a hand on both of his son’s shoulders, he lowered his hunch to eye-level. “Please look at me.”
He turned his eyes upwards towards his father without raising his head.
“I’m disappointed that you made the decision to do this. However, I want you to have the friendships you require. Therefore, we need you to find your very first friend. A real friend and not someone that will encourage you into these kinds of situations.”
Without a word, he nodded his head.
“Alright. After your mother and I decide on the appropriate terms for your grounding, we will talk about staying here on a more permanent basis. Perhaps then you can make good friends that will have your best interests in mind.”
Near
“This is a very serious predicament you have gotten yourself into. You need to understand the gravity of the situation. Your mother and I are very upset,” Near lectured his daughter.
All she did was roll her eyes at him.
“Do not make light of the situation. If you keep this behavior up-“
“You’ll what? Ground me?” She snarked at her father. “I’ll just sneak out again. Not like you ever notice anything I do anyway.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“If it’s not a case or one of your “collectibles”, you don’t care. At least if I’m a criminal you take an interest in me.”
“That isn’t true. I care very much for you.”
“UGH! You can’t even say the words ‘I love you’ to me! I bet you don’t say it mom either! How the hell did she ever let you fuck her?”
His daughter’s targeted obscenities hung heavy in the air. “I didn’t know you felt like this.”
“Well I do and I bet mom does, too.”
“I love you both very much. I’m just not outwardly affectionate.”
“Can you try? For once? I get it. Your work is super important, but I want your attention. Even if it’s just an ‘I love you’.” She fought back tears made of bottled-up hurt.
“Yes. I apologize for ever making you feel like this.”
She burst into tears. Not tears to get out of trouble. Real tears.
For the first time without needing to follow his partner’s lead, he wrapped his arms around his daughter as she buried her head into his shirt and sobbed.
“This doesn’t mean there is no punishment”, He reminded her. “What it does mean is that I need to make a better effort to show you that you are more important than my cases.”
Mello
“What were you thinking?” Mello tried to calm his voice, stern and on the verge of anger.
His son stared back at him through the steel bars. “I wasn’t.”
“You’re damn right you weren’t!” Mello really sounded like a father.
He wondered if his father would have been hard on him if he had been lucky enough to have been raised with one. “Damn right he would have,” Mello thought of his imaginary father.
“So when am I getting out of here?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? What the fuck, dad? You’re going to let me stay here overnight?”
“Yup, and if you speak to me like that again, I’ll leave you here two nights.”
“It wasn’t that big of a deal.” He shrugged arrogantly at his father.
“It wasn’t that big of a deal? You’re 15 and in jail. It’s a big deal.” Mello tried hard to keep his composure, something he wasn’t known for.
“I can’t believe you’re not on my side.” He walked and leaned against the wall of his cell.
“I am on your side. I’m always on your side. When I was your age, I made a lot of bad decisions. Decisions that screwed up my life for a long time. I will not let you end up like me. Do you understand?”
“Whatever. Thanks a lot.” He slunk down the wall until his bottom hit the floor hard.
“Someday you will see that I was right.” Mello turned and walked out, never looking back at his son. He walked out to the front desk. “Is it ok if I wait here until the morning?”
“Sure. You won’t be the first parent to do so.”
Matt
“You’ll never guess what your daughter did?” Matt’s partner said as she slammed the door behind the two of them. “GO TO YOUR ROOM.”
The teen stomped up the stairs mumbling to herself.
“What?” Matt said with mild amusement. His Love was always worked up about something.
“She got arrested. That’s what.”
“Come on, Honey. She’s a good kid. How bad can it be?”
“How bad can it be? I had to see her in handcuffs in the back of a cop car, so yeah, pretty damn bad.”
“She’s here now though, so everything’s fine.”
“Everything’s fine because the owners of the house decided not to press charges.”
“See, so everything’s good.”
“It’s not good, Matt,” She sighed. “Look, I love how easy-going you are, but you can’t be like that all the time. Not when it comes to raising our daughter and I can’t do this alone.”
“You’re not alone. I’ve always got you two.”
“If you feel that way, then start being a father. Show her that it’s not just me that disapproves of this behavior.”
“Ok.” Matt stood up and headed up the stairs. “I will have a talk with her.”
“Just don’t glorify your teenage years to her anymore, ok?”
“I won’t.”
Matt knocked on the door to his daughter’s room. “Big night?”
“Yeah, I guess.”
“You know this isn’t ok, right?”
“What’s the big deal. I’ve never gotten in trouble before. Anyway, what does it matter. You were wild when you were my age and things worked out for you.”
Matt swallowed hard. It only worked out for him because Mello had decided to join forces with Near to catch Kira. If he hadn’t, Matt could only imagine the lengths he would have gone to to help him.
“Have I ever told you about how Uncle Mello got his scars?”
Beyond Birthday
“I can’t believe you fucking did this.” Beyond gritted his teeth as he chastised his son.
“I’m sorry, dad. I never thought I’d get caught.”
“You didn’t think…How many times have you done this?”
“Just once before.”
“How could you do this to me? Do you know what I gave up for you? That I let him win?” Beyond’s words were meaningless to his son.
“I’m sorry.”
“Do you know what this looks like? That bastard will find out. He’ll know. He always knows. Do you think his children ever do the shit you do? Do You?”
“I-I-” He had no idea what his father was talking about. He never knew what he was talking about when he would rant about the ephemeral “him”.
“Is that all you can say?” He bubbled with rage as he grabbed him by the collar.
“I won’t do it again. I promise.” He closed his eyes tightly as he cowered away from his father.
Beyond let go of his son’s shirt. “I need you to get out of my sight. Go to your room. Now.” He pulled at his hair as he paced the living room, waiting for his anger to subside.
His son stumbled as he got to his feet before running down the hall, vanishing from Beyond’s view.
“That’s all of them!” The stack of files landed with a thud next to L’s hand, taking his attention away from his computer screen.
“Thank you, Matsuda. You’ve done well.”
“I’m just glad to take over for Mogi now that he’s Misa- Misa’s ‘manager’.”
“I suppose the two of you have swapped roles in recent weeks.” He returned his eyes to his work.
“Is there anything else you need from me? Maybe another cup of coffee?” There was a tinge of unease in his voice, anxious that he was going to take him up on the offer. He didn’t want to backslide in his value to the world’s greatest detective.
“I think you’ve proven yourself past that, wouldn’t you agree?”
“Yeah, you’re right!” Matsuda’s laugh verged on a giggle, rubbing the back of his head nervously before babbling on. “I always thought you kind of didn’t like me.”
“If that was true I would have let you complete your fall off that building.” A wry smile stretched across L’s usually stoic lips as he continued, “On second thought Mastuda, I would like a cup of coffee.”
Disappointment washed over him. “Oh, ok. No problem.”
“And bring an extra cup for yourself. I’m going to need your assistance on the files Watari will be bringing over.”
“You got it!” Matsuda beamed as he headed to the kitchen.
Near sat within the safe confines of the Lego fortress he had built around himself. With uncharacteristic roughness, he twirled his finger through his hair. He had been lost in thought all day.
Footsteps approached breaking him from his recollections.
“Here are the supplies you asked for.” Rester handed him a case of model paints and a blank finger puppet. “Also, there’s a case that just came in-“
“Not today, Rester.” He said flatly as he chose a red feathered dart and threw it at the calendar, dead-eyeing the square that held today’s date.
“I didn’t realize. Apologies.”
“Please leave me.”
Rester respectfully left him to his crafting.
With the agile fingers of a child opening a gift on Christmas, Near removed the paints and figurine from the package. After removing the lid from each tiny paint pot, he dipped the brush into an earthy-toned acrylic and began recalling their features.
After long hours of diligent consideration, he placed the puppet on the index finger of his left hand. It was a remarkable replica, nothing like the ones he had made for L and Mello. Their likenesses were shoddy impersonators of the originals.
This one was different. This was his masterpiece, easily recognizable to any that knew them. An homage to a memory he almost wished he could forget.
He reached for the puppet that he made to represent himself and stuck it on his right index finger. Moving the two figures towards each other, he clanked them together, mimicking a quick kiss before pulling them apart.
He took the puppets from his fingers and once again gripped the paintbrush. Dipping it into the red paint pot, he dragged it down the middle of his newest creation, leaving the impression of a bloody trail behind it. He laid it next to his to dry, a small bit of red invading the white shirt that made it unmistakably Near.
“How appropriate.” He thought to himself.
“I really did try to save you.” His words for his benefit alone. “You were the only person I ever loved.”
L gripped the mouse with unnecessary pressure, his misplaced glare staring down the computer screen. Their friendly turned playful banter mocking him as he feigned investigating.
He should have known better than to invite them to become part of the task force. He liked the idea of them being there, working closely with them day in and day out. It would be a good way to gradually nudge them into realizing his affections for them. A way to keep them close. A way to buy him some more time.
What he didn’t think of was the possibility of others in the Task Force also finding them charming, kind, attractive...
“A fine time for a miscalculation,” he internally berated himself as he swiveled angrily back and forth in his chair.
“Hey, Ryuzaki? Do you mind if I take off for the day?” They asked with their usual disarming smile.
No, you may not. You must stay here with me. How else will you realize my feelings towards you?
“Yes, fine.” He answered with disinterest, never looking from his computer.
“Thanks! You really are the best boss.”
“Always aiming to please,” he snarked under his breath.
“Anything new?” They asked as they set a hot cup of coffee down next to L’s hand.
L turned his tired eyes towards them. “Nothing of any importance.”
“You look exhausted.” They placed a soft hand on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Maybe you should take a break.”
“That isn’t necessary. I have other leads that I need to pursue.”
“Come on, just 10 minutes. Besides, I miss you.”
“I can always spare some time for you.” He sighed lovingly at them as he rose from his swivel chair.
The two sat next to one another on the sofa, L scrunching up in his usual crouch.
“Planning on deducing?” They teased him good-naturedly.
“I prefer this position. I’m most comfortable this way.”
“I know,” they wrapped their arms around him, pulling him closer, “but, if I remember correctly, you’re comfortable this way, too.”
A slight blush colored the pale detective’s face. Returning the embrace, he rested his head on their chest and closed his eyes. “You really don’t play fairly, do you?”
They kissed him on the top of his head, rubbing their face in his soft, messy mane. “Not when it comes to getting you to fall asleep I don’t.”
Hello, I hope you're doing well. ⛄🍃 Before asking for a microfic, I would like to thank you for sharing your beautiful writing and ideas, these days have been a little difficult for me, and your blog has helped me to gain inspiration and strength. That being said. May I request a microfic for ❤romantic love with L?
Hello Dear dxnisnflwr! Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so glad that my writing and blog has helped you. You really are one of my kindest readers. ❤
I hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
The sound of the door opening was accompanied by the words “May I come in?” The familiar voice, a voice they had desperately missed, filled the hotel room.
“Like you even need to ask,” Their elation present in their words as they met him at the door, throwing their arms around his hunched shoulders, kissing him all over his pale face.
“Heh, I missed you as well,” L laughed as he returned their embrace and kicked the door shut behind the two of them.
“I know staying apart is for my own safety, but…I’m so glad you’re here.” They took his hand and led him deeper into the room.
“This case is too dangerous. There are too many variables that I haven’t figured out yet, but once I’ve brought the suspect to justice, we’ll be together again.” He ran the back of his cold hand down their face, “and if you were wondering, being away from you is unpleasant for me, too.”
He sat on the edge of the bed and with a clumsy flick, flipped his untied shoes from his feet. His Love straddled his lap and kissed him softly on the mouth, sweet with the residue of a strawberry lollipop lingering on his lips as he ran his hands gently up and down their back, letting his fingers lightly dance across the strip of skin that peeked out where their shirt had ridden up.
“You really did pick a beautiful place to meet,” they said as they pulled back from his kiss and ran their fingers through his dark, messy hair, making it even more disheveled with every touch.
He leaned back on the bed, pulling them down on top of him. “It was mostly for privacy’s sake. I have no intentions of leaving this room for the next 36 hours.”
