In the aftermath of new details on how the DNC rigged their primaries in Clinton’s favor, I think it’s worth pointing out that these two ideas can and do coexist without contradiction:

a. The Democratic Party, by abandoning the working class that put it in power, completely ignoring the rise of Populism in this country, and telling a country where 99% of people have seen little improvement in their economic situation since at least 2007 that “America is already great!”, directly contributed to a situation where a bigoted, failed real estate mogul who was willing to talk trash about globalization and the economic “recovery” seemed by many to be the only option to bring about real change.

b. Voting for Trump was an inexcusable act of Hatred, in that anyone who did so could not be ignorant of how doing so would no doubt make the lives of many people significantly worse, if not outright put their lives in danger.
