The DNC Doesn't Get Involved In Primaries!

David Hogg left the DNC, and he did leave, of his own accord, because he wanted to endorse and raise money in primaries and that fully goes against the goals of Ken Martin’s DNC.

I don’t care about what you think did or didn’t happen in the past, this current DNC does not get involved in primaries.

Period.

You will not find Ken Martin saying anything about any particular candidate until it’s a Democrat vs a Republican in the general election, or before — if only one Dem is running. (and they won’t get involved if it’s a jungle primary and two Democrats at all)

I keep seeing people blaming the DNC for what’s happening in the Texas Senate race or the Maine Senate race or the California Governor’s race.

They are not involved, other than to facilitate events for the state party to make decisions, like Ken Martin being at the CADEM convention last weekend.

The goal of the primary is for registered Democratic voters to have a say over who our candidates are (unless you’re in a state with a jungle primary, fuck jungle primaries). It’s a chance for everyone — who votes — to have their voice heard.

It is not the time when the DNC tells you who to vote for. That only starts when it’s a choice between a Dem and not a Dem. They’re gonna tell you to vote for the Dem.

At this moment, their focus is on local elections. last week, Ken Martin was in Maine, but not because of the Senate race. He was there to help support and knock doors for Scott Harriman, who just won the House District 94 special election yesterday.

They are also focusing on talking to people where they are. During the first week of February, he was in Kansas City, both in Missouri and Kansas to meet with Mayor Quinton Lucas, Rep Sharice Davids, local Dem leaders, union members and farmers, because, as he keeps saying, we don’t want the first time someone hears from the Democratic party to be when we need their vote.

Soon he’ll be spending weeks at a time in Wisconsin, cause we need that Supreme Court seat.

He might be in Texas soon, but it’s either for a different election or after the primary, when the DNC will begin to put their full weight behind whoever gets the nomination, be it Jasmine Crockett or James Talarico. But they are not getting involved in the primary.

I don’t know why this rumor persists, but it does and it has to stop. Using the DNC as a scapegoat doesn’t help anyone. If your favorite candidate doesn’t win the primary it’s because they didn’t have the votes….sorry.
