Cal's Calls: a rogue with overprotective parents, consumed by the want for freedom, and with a deep, but naive love for magic.

sleep like the dead: inspired by Sleeping Beauty. Her parents angered a sorcerer, who cursed her, to never wake but never die. Centuries later, a descendent wants to rebel against her sorcerer-family, and breaks the curse. The start of a love story?

Magical Girl: a tiefling girl, born to a colourful family full of inherent magic. She herself, grey and without power. She studies for years, becomes a wizard, but is still not able to get the love and recognition of her family. So she goes adventuring, wanting to find self love instead.

DuoChromatic: a partner project with @nostalgicidiot . Tiefling twins with a tragic backstory and love only for each other (we're still hoping to play them in a campaign one day and our friends are on tumblr so I don't want to put any big spoilers here :D)

We’ve had them personally for a while now, but it wasn’t until the community asked that we thought about posting them - Character playlists for party members! Get to know the members of the High Hopes Low Rolls simply by listening to some great tunes. We begin with the characters you’ll be seeing in season one, and hopefully adding more as time goes on (like certain NPC playlists…)

hey!! 😊 I saw you’re looking to do more playlists for d&d characters! I’d love one 💕 my character is an 18-yr-old human rogue named micah whitley! We’re playing a modern fantasy setting, and I loved the idea of a normal character w no magic being thrown into a fantasy setting (which is a magic university-type setting). He’s really skilled at sleight of hand tricks (magic tricks without actual magic lol) and has a bit of a penchant for stealing, as most rogues do. This is because he grew up in poverty and hoards stolen items he might not be able to afford. He’s a complicated individual. His mother was a neglectful drug addict who disappeared when he was 5, leaving him and his older brother, Darren, all alone. Because of that, Micah doesn’t really know how to interact with others beyond a fake level of niceness and charismatic ploliteness. He’s also super socially awkward. He was bullied throughout high school for this and had no friends. Darren went off to college when Micah was 14, leaving Micah completely alone. Micah holds a lot of resentment toward his brother for that and developed a substance abuse problem like his mother, though he insists it’s nothing. He deals drugs to make ends meet and has a deep dislike for authority. He’s an anarchist. He likes to party. He’s bisexual. He can be a bit mean sometimes, but that’s because he thinks he’s always in the right. He’s a chaotic soul who has no interest in cultural niceties unless he has something to gain from it. He misses Darren from when he was younger, and, though he doesn’t want to admit it, he’s a bitter and sad person. He hides that through jokes and ridiculous behavior. He’s never had any friends before, but that’s starting to change. People are liking his socially awkward charm. He’s starting to become a little less bitter. His happy charisma isn’t always an act. Lmao that was a lot but I hope that helps!

This is such a cool and multifaceted character!

I have another d&d character that I would l o v e a playlist for 😀 (not that I’ve gotten to play her yet 😭😭) she is a forest gnome (who the phb says have lots of nicknames, which I kind of ran with 😆) and her full name is Faedira "Feera" Theodora "Freaky Friday" Fiddlefen the 3rd. Faedira comes from a mostly gnomish village deep in the woods where she has enjoyed life and learning and playing harmless jokes on people for many years. (1/?)

Even though I had made a few playlists before @nostalgicidiot and I started this, this was the one that fully started my love for them.

It is based on two tiefling twins that started as a funny idea on Halloween 2018 which, even though we literally only got to play them once in a one shot so far, have become the most complex characters we (or I at least) have ever created and also the ones I love the most.

As much as we have fleshed out the characters, the playlist has grown and even though it is already over 13 hours long, it is still groing.

I love the characters, I love that it brought me a lot closer to my friend, and I love their playlist.

If you're looking for songs for your edgy characters, with music from various genres, with themes such as

Loving only one person, but that fully, completely, maybe to an unhealthy extent
