2019 Sketchbook Week #41

14 October 2019 - Sketches for “overgrown”.  I was hoping the color would carry the concept and, well, y’all saw how well that worked out.

19 October 2019 - Took me a few tries to figure out “tread”.  I settled on the “tread”/giants connection early, but was trying to figure it out.

20 October 2019 - “Treasure” of course led me to try and draw my wonderful husband.  I’m... not good... at drawing real people.  After two attempts turning him into a hideous monster, I hit upon the more symbolic idea that I wound up going for.  Lesson here?  Don’t ask me to draw you and your beloved, I will make you look like ugly monsters.

I was doing Inktober, and all my sketches were just concepts for that.

2019 Sketchbook Week #39

4 October 2019 - I was trying the idea of Tiny (from my D&D game) frozen with terror.  It... didn’t work.

6 October 2019 - The concept was “husky”, so the husband suggested I draw Tiny.  Somehow he wound up at an anachronistic T-shirt shop.

16 September 2019 - Drodanh again!

16 September 2019 - Hey, it’s the orc again!

16 September 2019 - A new hero joined the DnD party, Sera’nielle!

17 September 2019 - Sera casts a spell

17 September 2019 - She’s an amnesiac.

22 September 2019 - I drew a Peacock for a friend’s birthday.  This was the practice.  Someday I’ll be brave enough to draw one from the front with the tail spread out.

2019 Sketchbook Week #34

27 August 2019 - More shyster wizard/artificer concept stuff.  That’s him as a wand-slinger, using a staff like a bazooka.

29 August 2019 - Tiny (my firbolg ranger in my weekly D&D game) was beset by flying cats while talking with a wizard.  They liked him.

29 August 2019 - More shyster stuff.  He has a vardo!  Well, in concept anyway.

31 August 2019 - Was dicussing how centaurs can support their body weight with their tiny human-sized mouth, and came to the conclusion that it has a secret mouth for feeding the horse half.  I illustrated how this would work.

1 September 2019 - Random sketch of Dave, my old half-elf paladin.  Outside of his armor, ‘cause apparently I wanted to draw muscles.

2019 Sketchbook Week #9

Didn’t do much this week.

4 March 2019 - Al wearing real clothes, Sebastian in some sort of giant test tube, Aradis looking concerned!  Mystery!

Sketch Page - I wrote the 6th of March on the file name, but this was a couple of little things over a few days.

8 March 2019 - Arcath and Tiny in werewolf hybrid forms!  My thinking for these was that Arcath, not normally having hair, would get regular brown wolf hair.  But Tiny, naturally having green hair, would get green fur.  I am not a great furry artist.

2019 Sketchbook Week #7

Playing more with color.

18 February 2019 - Aradis, shirtless and dancing.  Because that’s the sort of thing that happens in a space opera.

18 February 2019 - Sebastian, going all “Hulk smash”.  To be clear, that isn’t a red cape he’s wearing that’s flaring out behind him, I was just trying to add a vague background element for contrast.

20 February 2019 - Arcath, the lizardman warlock.  Friend’s D&D character.

21 February 2019 - Al the half-human, giving a “hang loose” while climbing some random oddly placed pipes.  I was trying to go minimalistic with the color, and just wound up getting carried away, but didn’t fully do his skin because I didn’t feel like it.  Still not sure on his hair/face design.

Lesson learned:first, if I do color on every picture, it slows me way down, and second, I have no idea how to get a smooth fill with the markers I have.  Everything ends up looking like it was colored by a five year old.

2019 Sketchbook, Week #5

Markers came in!  Trying to learn them.

4 February 2019 - Adel and Zack, OCs from an unfinished fantasy story.  They aren’t human.

4 February 2019 - Yggdrasil, another OC from that unfinished fantasy story.

4 February 2019 - Tiny got chibi!  Really happy with the way this one came out.

6 February 2019 - Al the Half-Human.  He’s from the “space opera” story.  Captions are “3 kinds of eyes”, “two thumbs on each hand”, “smaller second arm”, “visor”, and “looks kind of like if you made a centaur, but just kept using human parts”

7 February 2019 - Unfinished/abandoned. This was going to the space opera gang, Al, Aradis and Sebastian, to show the contrasting body sizes, but I wasn’t happy with where it was going.  Not surprisingly, unfinished blue-line sketches don’t scan very well.

8 February 2019 - Al the Half-Human.  Still trying to figure out his design.  Apparently he stole a tank and sweat pants from someone else.

10 February 2019 - Sebastian & Aradis, Black Guardian, inmate admittance.  Aradis’s right arm isn’t meat, in case that wasn’t obvious before.  Also, this probabl
