(Note that the sexuality and butch/femme headcanons can be taken with a grain of salt here considering the fact that the language correlating to the former used during the mid 20th century wasn't as developed and highly specific as today's language, and the latter terms only became apparent in American queer culture during the 1940s, meaning these characters likely wouldn't have used any of these specific labels to describe their experiences given the time period; this is just my interpretation of what their sexualities and presentations look like from my own modern lense :3)
