Look at how Poppy resigns herself to run. She's not a coward like so many fans claim. This reads to me as her deciding if she isn't around, the pain inflicted on others will stop. Passively suicidal, yet on a mission to bring that cursed factory peace before she dies. Including the toys who hate/blame the doll for her father's insanity. Her body can't fight. Her eleven-year-old mind spiraling.
Her bossy behavior is because of no one listening to her in the past. Elliot orders her corpse to be surgically shoved in this fragile porcelain. The Prototype starts getting violent to maintain power - which Poppy obviously doesn't want and sees the flaws in prolonged revenge. Her voice line "You opened... my case," isn't creepy; she's literally shocked. Someone with authority is actually on her side? (As much as Kissy Missy is a great friend, her fear outweighs making bold moves unless highly pressured.)
