weird
Woke up to a voicemail and a text from my step dad. He had been ignoring me for two months and then suddenly Tuesday started obsessively calling me because he needs my help 🙃🙃
Basically, my mom and him kinda neglect my youngest sister and she's not on top of her stuff (which, I don't blame her for. She is 19 and doesn't know any better and is learning the hard way, like I did). And basically, because last year she had trouble doing her FAFSA (I'm pretty sure my mom lied on all of our FAFSAs because I'm pretty sure she's lied on her taxes) since my mom didn't give her any info for it, my other sister ended up helping her very late, way after it was due and she didn't get nearly as much money as she normally does. This ended up meaning she had an ~$8000 balance for Fall semester. I quickly took out a parent plus loan for her despite not being a parent, but now I have a loan in my name. My step dad said he would pay it and then.... stopped answering any of my calls about anything for months.
Turns out that I THOUGHT the loan was to cover spring semester, but it was actually left over balance from the fall. Now she has another balance for the spring. We managed to get her FAFSA in on time (guessing on a lot of info since my mom was lying to us "idk I didn't do my 2020 taxes" uh huh. Yeah sure.), but she can't register for fall classes until this semester is paid.
My step dad of course hasn't been on top of this so didn't know. And my mom just neglects my sister so she doesn't care. Now I'm getting 8 calls back to back of him angry that I'm not answering right away? It was midday Tuesday and voicemails were like "am I blocked? I don't know why I would be" because I kept sending them to voicemail while working and having my therapy session. But the call last night around 3am (thank god I starting putting my phone on do not disturb at 1am until 8:30) was him crying saying I'm turning my back on her etc. And a text that says "xxx been working hard I can't get a loan please help xxx she can't stop please I will pay xxx will pay if I don't why are you doing this to her."
My sister hasn't asked me about this. She likely doesn't know my step dad is doing this to me.
I don't fucking understand. Does he think I have money? I literally don't and I am already paying my own college loans. If I add another one for my sister I will have twice as much as I should. I can't do this and it fucking sucks that I'm being guilted. And it fucking sucks that one of his calls was literally "I assumed you were helping her." What? This is fucked up.
Happier days
