WW2 recognition poster of a Dornier Do-217 E

This special US made recognition poster features the WEFTUP-classification (Wings Engines Fuselage Tail Undercarriage Peculiarities) which is less common than the WEFT. Also does it feature a more artistic style and has drawings of the aircraft instead of the usual black silhouette.

As can be seen under the profile drawing, the poster dates back to November 1942 and was mainly used for training pilots and gunners.

These also carried four 20mm MG 151/20 cannons in the upward firing Schräge Musik fashion. Great detail of the FuG 202 Lichtenstein SN-2 radar. Location and date unknown. First flight of the Junkers Ju 288 V-1, with twin BMW 801 radial engines, 29 November 1940. If the proposed Junkers Jumo 222 engines had come to fruition, the new standardised Bomber B could have been in production in 1942. Instead, with the failure of the Jumo 222, the entire Bomber B program was cancelled. This meant the Heinkel He 111, Junkers Ju 88 and Dornier Do 217 had to soldier on untill the end of the war. A silly retro space fighter design based on the WW2 heavy fighter Do 217. A large turret on the nose, small one on the back of the crew pod. Side nacelles have missiles. The whole crew area can eject as an escape pod. It has a crew of three, one pilot, two gunners.
