Home Sweet Home || Do Wes
The noise of the engine and the blast of the wind was all that hummed through Donna’s eardrums for miles. She fell in and out of consciousness, only stirring when they hit a bump in the road. Wes had left her speechless after their charade. It was unlike any man to not want something in return after the deeds he’d bestowed upon her, and although she found herself a little disgruntled about it, the blonde chose silence over argument. Wes was a troubled man, one that she had intentions to unravel, but to do so in one sitting was never as enticing as the slow peel of layers over time. She blinked wearily, startled when the truck jerked to a halt. It was dusk, but already frigid; an unfamiliar setting coming into focus as she rubbed her eyes. “Here already, cowboy?” She questioned, watching as Wes attempted to leave the cab as silently as he could. He was already gearing up, his massive hands filling out his work gloves until they practically split at the seams. “Were you plannin’ on keeping me out here in this frigid weather all by my lonesome, or were you going to invite me to meet your relatives?” She smiled wanly at him, her large blue eyes batting their lashes as they always did when Donna wanted to have her way. Truthfully, she would have stayed in that cab, perfectly content for a nap, but opportunity was knocking, and although she seemed the frail sort at times, Donna was desperate to prove her worth.
