Out in the Snow (OPEN)
Kiyotaka stared at the doors to the front of their new residence for the time being, dressed from head to toe in the winter gear which had been provided for each and every one of them. Since arriving, he wondered if perhaps it was a lie; the promise of them being allowed to leave the school grounds. Then again, he'd seen plenty of people existing the premises, though whether they returned or not was something that remained a mystery to him. While he truly hoped they'd made it back in one piece, safety was never something that could be guaranteed here. He pressed his palms flat against the surface, opening the door with more force than should have been necessary. The wind gusting around outside was something he should have expected, but no matter. The seemingly endless flakes of snow fell on his coat, Kiyotaka's breath coming out in hot, visible puffs. Snow was something he was familiar with, something he would often trudge to school through during the winter months. However, enjoying it was an experience he'd never thought to pursue. Beyond his gaze, he could see the forest, his lips tugging down in a small frown. He would stay here, right in front of the temporary Hope's Peak where it was safe. A few steps were all he managed to take before he spotted a figure just a bit ahead of him. Kiyotaka squinted, attempting to get a better look at whoever they were, though it seemed as if that would be impossible without actually walking up to him. And that was exactly what he intended to do. His expression morphed into a more neutral one before he called out, his curiosity getting the best of him. "I sincerely hope you're not planning on heading in there. We were warned of its dangers. Are you sure you want to take that risk?" The thick trees promised nothing but misfortune for those who entered, and if he could discourage this person from venturing out, then maybe he had found a companion for his own excursion.
