Yes I know that it's really hot when I'm covered in your blood elbow deep in your chest cavity that's why I keep vivisecting you. But I keep getting flustered and dropping your liver and its really slippery so I keep dropping it over and over again leading to very comedic slapstick comedy where I slip on your blood and fall over really funny

Hey everyone! 

I know it’s been a minute, but with the recent news that Automattic has laid off a portion of its workforce (including a sizable percent of tumblr's staff), it's a good time to have a quick chat about the future.

Now, as far as we know, tumblr isn't going anywhere just yet. No need to panic! However, I do recommend that you take into consideration a few things.

1: Backup your tumblr! Here's tumblr's official guide to doing so. It's always a good idea to have backups of your data and now is a great time to do so.

*I’ll also be including a handful of other links walking you guys through other backup methods at the end of this post. As I understand it, each of them have different pros and cons, and it might be a good idea to have more than one type of backup depending on what you want to save/how you’d like the backup to look/etc.

2: Have some place your mutuals/friends can find you! A carrd or linktree is a great way to list off anywhere you might find yourself on the internet. 

3: Once again, don't panic! We don’t know that anything is happening to tumblr anytime soon—it just doesn’t hurt to have a backup. Better to have a plan now instead of being blindsided later.

*The other backup methods I’ve been able to find:

—First off, someone put together a document with several backup methods & pros and cons for each. (I believe it originated from a tumblr post, but with search being the way it is I haven’t been able to track it down.) This goes over a lot, but I’m adding a few more links to this post in case they might be helpful too. 

—This post and this video were a good guide to the older “bbolli tumblr-utils backup for beginners” method mentioned in the doc (I used them during the ban in 2018 to make sure I had my main blog saved).

—I’ve also found a handful of python & python 3 tumblr backup tutorial videos out there, in case those would be helpful for you. (I haven’t personally tried these methods out yet, but the videos seem to go over the updated version of tumblr-utils.

I love the first FNAF game because of how it changed the indie horror game genre and for how well it executed the mechanics overall.

Does the game have flaws? Absolutely! As any game does! But I think that by writing it off as 'just the first FNAF game' we're not really appreciating the dedication and art that the game offers.

In my video script I specifically cover the main game mechanics and how they add to the overall atmosphere of the game. I think when discussing FNAF 1 a lot of people brush off the horror of the game down to just "the jumpscares" rather than taking a deeper look at it.

Do the jumpscares make the game scary? Yes, of course! But I think by boiling it down to just that it becomes unfair to the game itself.

For example, the cameras. Now, when approaching the game from a horror stand point, the cameras don't immediately jump out at me. I'm sure they might for someone else, but for me personally, they don't. When I look back at this game, I've come to realize that the cameras play a very active role in why I found the game so scary when I was younger. Not only do they heighten suspense, they also increase the fear factor and overall create a sense of vulnerability for the player.

This is just one of eight examples I can think of off the top of my head!

TL;DR I think FNAF 1 gets written off a lot when a lot of the mechanics in-game should be accredited for the overall horror atmosphere of the game.

Rambling here but I'm not seeing people point this out:

Nimona has always been Nimona

Yes that may sound obvious but here me out

Spoilers ahead btw

When talking to Bal, Nimona told him she was originally a girl and implied she got the powers from a wishing well that called to her to feel more herself with the other animals, even if it was in a joking sense to get him off her back

Then we get the flashback scene where we see that is not the case

She's always been a shapshifter

She is seen as many different animals, acting like them and trying to fit in, and every time she is ostracized, until dhe met Gloreth.

Even when she revealed her powers, Gloreth was still her friend and they had fun together, letting her be who she is.

She didn't ask for it, she didn't wish for it, the only thing the well gave to her was a friend who accepted her until that friend thought she was a monster like all the other villagers thought.

I think this is a good allegory that trans people have always been they way they are, they were just conditioned to hide it from everyone until they embraced it, and came out, and how it wasn't something they chose or wished for, but something they are

And how they were conditioned to hide it because it was a bad thing that made them a freak, and how when they tried to express themselves in the past, theu were the outcasts to be afraid of.

And then they find their people and embrace it, not caring how they are seen.

Y'know what I blocked them, actually. They’ve caused me too much damn stress.

Anyways here a little PSA: If you want art done, do NOT

1) Copy-paste the same exact request into multiple artists' ask boxes

2) Send the request multiple times ((maybe once if you think it got eaten, but this person has sent me 3+ asks for just one request on multiple occasions))

3) Say "GIVE THIS TO ME NOW" or "I WANT THIS GIVE IT HERE" etc. You don’t need to be super formal or whatever but don’t come with all caps & a demand

4) DM the artist asking where the request is, spam in DMs, etc.

^Doing those things is just disrespectful, & I’m sick of it happening. Thankfully I’ve never had these things happen aside from this one person, but I do not want to see it again. It’s a surefire way to not get your request done & to get blocked.
