[ omg either is amazing! ♥ hmmmmm, halloween! my f a v o r i t e holiday! so, i’m actually starting a new office job on October 1st (for those of you keeping track, that’s this Monday. AH.) so as far as having like, leeway? to have some time off? ehhhh the cards aren’t good, and i’d feel a bit shy about asking for a day off so early into my work. BUT! i’m considering a road trip the weekend before to hang out with a buddy or else going out that weekend with some new work friends! assuming i make some new work friends. god, please let them be cool.now onto the REALLY important part: COSTUMES! i have no earthly idea yet. have been thinking of some Ghost themed stuff? i tried an Aries costume last year and liked the idea, but i waited too long and it didn’t turn out quite the way i’d hoped XD actually, if anyone has any advice on what i should think about dressing up as, hmu. i danced for 16 years, so a love of costumes is like part of my DNA. there is no length i will not go to. face paint? yeah. hand made costumes? yeah. colored contacts, even though i’m deathly afraid of eye stuff? hell yeah. TLDR; plans are up in the air, but i got my gears a’turnin’

Happy birthday, man. I know I suck but hey, your girlfriend doesn’t. Well, figuratively. Literally though- (/wiggles eyebrows before choking up with laughter) I mean, kidding aside— The birthday surprise doesn’t end there, I guess? Woo, more fun. Okay, I’m really bad at sounding enthusiastic, I apologize. So here- For your 22nd year of not dying, I present to you a genuine congratulatory item-

1.) I am aware of that chair I sent you before. Don’t think I forgot— That was months ago, but I’m pretty sure I sent you a chair once. I’ve decided to upgrade it and make it more personalized for you.

2.) And yes. You might say I’m cheap again so here, here is something worthy for Hyo’s king. It might not reach your standards but it’ll definitely look good on you. I can tell. I actually asked the opinion of three different women for it.

     There were always doubts in the mind of Frank Dufresne, ones particularily surrounding the ever-feared Overlord.

     Doubts that came to him, moments after having the Overlord collapse beside him in bed, doubts about everything they had going on.

     He had grown up beside the Overlord, his parents having been Doctors in the palace before him.

     They grew up together, and Dufresne watched the child he once knew as Richard Simmons become the Overlord he is today. Dufresne knew the man that came before the Overlord shadowed over him, and they are nothing alike.

     Dufresne doubts that the man he once knew is no longer there--no, that the man he once knew has closed himself off, using the name and persona of the ever-feared Overlord to hide himself.

     Dufresne doubts the Overlord sees what they have as he sees it.

     They're not friends. But they're not quite lovers.

     The neutral space between, filled with littered soft kisses, filled with gentle touches and light whispers, yet no 'I love you's, yet no words of promise, had been filled by them.

     Dufresne doubts he can save the Overlord from himself.

     But Dufresne tries his best to push the doubts out of his mind, relishing in the attention, the littered soft kisses, the gentle touches, light whispers he recieves from the Overlord.

     Because for the time being,                                              This is them.

Red String of Fate

32. Our muses are destined to raise a family together

It's a miss-matched, rag-tag family. A group of wayward kids and two adults. Are they adults? It's arguable, really. What with the way that Grant keeps coming home with injuries from missions and Izzie makes an utter mess of the house when she cooks pancakes with the kids.     But they manage.None of the kids are theirs. They're children that have no place to go; no home to call their own. There are seven of them and frankly it gets crowded. Nobody minds. (Except for when one of the kids jumps on Grant when he's recovering. Then it's a little tense in the house—-                                                         -—the agent apologizes though.)Gradually the kids grow up. Grant and Izzie put them through school and out the door they go when they're old enough. They always come back though -- to see the new kids, to make sure that their surrogate parents are healthy and fine (and that she hasn't gotten him fat with the amount of cakes she makes.)      It's a good life. Eventually Grant pulls out of SHIELD and just works around the house. He takes up construction and it's known that he's the best damn pillow fort builder in the street. When he quits the spy life, Izzie gets herself a job at the local hospital. If he's not with SHIELD, then neither is she.                            It's a family they find and create and it's more than either could have hoped for.

"No one is a fan of Doctors, Agent Ward. If you were I’d have your head examined. And ‘tough guy’ patients are usually the worst to treat…so the feeling’s mutual. But I agreed to this job because Coulson asked me to. So you’re going to cooperate or I’m going to hold you down. And though you might be the best since Romanoff, I am a Romanoff so you’re going to listen.”

"I don't--" he frowns. The thought of the Doc holding him down to examine his injuries -- well, it was a little amusing. And wait, she's a Romanoff? Oh, that's right. Ward shifts and he suppresses a hiss when the weight on his right foot becomes a shooting pain. Okay...so maybe he could get checked out. He walks (because no he is not limping) over to a bench and sinks down on it. "Fine." Yes, if you think he's not going to at least be a little grumbly about this, you're thick in the head. "I think it's just a rib or two, to be honest."

"Please, just trust me, just this once."

"Not a fan of doctors, doc," Ward grimaces. Alright, does he need a medic? Probably. Does he want one? Not really.

The agent makes a move to stand. He gets a hand propped against a broken table -- he's lucky the table broke and not his back when he was thrown onto it -- and the other is braced on his knee. It takes him far too long to push himself up and he avoids Izzie's eyes as he does so. No, he's okay.      "--Thankyou for your time."
