tell about "Bucharest"?

Hi hi, how are you! Always so nice to see you around <3

Bucharest is about post-TWS Bucky living in Bucharest, getting set up on a blind date by his elderly friend and neighbor. Against all odds that blind date is, of course, Steve in disguise.

Shared a bit of it here and here, but here’s another snippet!

He had, towards the beginning of his stay in the little Bucharest apartment building, attempted to pretend he was somewhat local. Not to the city, that would be too obvious, but maybe somewhere further south, or Odessa even. Except Tanya, born and raised in New York, had clocked him from a mile away. According to her, he spoke Romanian like her late husband did, someone who spent about half his life in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Fair enough.

This one’s a short (and sweet? time will tell) one so I do want to get it wrapped up soon if I can!

Not gonna lie, I’ve been back and forth about if I can finish this one (and do it well) but it’s Post-TWS Bucky living in Bucharest who gets set up on a blind date! Can we guess who his blind date might be? If you guessed Steve in disguise, you’re right hahaha.

“Now, now, James,” Tanya tutted, “it may be called a blind date but I assure you, once you see the man I’ve set you up with—whew!” She fanned herself with one hand and nudged Elena with a salacious wink. “Let me tell you, this guy is a real tall drink of water.” Well, she’d been right. Case in point: said tall drink of water sprawled across his bed after a begrudgingly pleasant date and an even better so-called nightcap.

I do really want to pull this one together!

tell me about the Bucharest and the gilmore au! i am very intrigued!

Okay so Bucharest was supposed to be for @teamcap10 but didn’t pull it together in time. Basically Post-TWS Bucky living in Bucharest gets set up on a blind date and it’s Steve in disguise! And kind of entirely by accident.

Here’s a little snippet:

Bucky has his blind date all but snoring on his chest, spent and close to sleep, when he sees it: the blond roots beneath a mop of dark hair, unwanted weeds peeking out from a lush landscape. He knew this entire thing was a bad idea, the moment Tanya picked up one of his discarded mahjong tiles, declared her set, and hummed a pleased, “You know, I met a very nice man the other day.”

The Gilmore AU is, as you can probably guess, a Gilmore Girls AU! This one's been begging me to write it for ages but is actually in its very early stages. I know we’ve all read a GG AU but I can’t resist. Small rough snippet please don’t judge too harshly:

By the time they make it into Howling Stars, Rebecca’s frostiness has warmed up to a tepid boredom Steve’s learned is her default since she started freshman year. “Is that grandma’s car?” Rebecca frowns at the backed up driveway of her home, a small but beautiful one-story only a few minutes away from where Bucky works at his diner.

Hoping to get these two off the ground but we'll see!

WIP Wednesday

@sparkagrace tagged me a while back, thank you!! Took me ages but here we are.

I'm always so nervous about sharing (larger-ish) chunks of WIPs but here's one from an upcoming Morning Glory (2010) AU.

“Come on, Steve,” Bucky says almost desperately. “I know you’ve got attitude or whatever, but even you can’t deny that the SSR news division’s been one of the most influential things on air for the past half century. Sure, this is a shitty fucking show, but we’re part of something bigger.” “And what? You got dreams of returning HWMS to its non-existent former glory?” Steve raises a skeptical eyebrow. Bucky shrugs. “I’ve got plans for it to meet its potential.” He finally gives up on the rejected pile he’d been poring over, asking only somewhat hesitantly, “What’s your problem with SSR? I mean, for fuck’s sake, your picture’s still in the goddamn lobby.” “Hmm, yeah, it is a pretty good picture, don’t you think?” Steve looks up at him with a knowing smirk, and Bucky has to dart his eyes away to keep from blushing because, okay, he did maybe ogle Steve Rogers circa ’95. Then again, he’s sure half the building does, every morning when they pass by the row of pictures featuring SSR News over the decades.

I: (baby spice 4) “I love you, Stevie,” he crooned instead, going so far as to throw in a bat of his lashes, “but I swear I’ll turn off our wi-fi if you don’t get out of the house this week.”

M: (firefly au pt. 2) must have had to cut him open, for the bullet. It’s too long a suture otherwise.

A: (plucky romcom heroine bucky) a difficult choice Bucky wishes he even had the chance to hem and haw over while some acoustic cover of a 90s pop song plays in the background.

G: (pool boy) "Gives me an excuse to check on you. Make sure you haven’t drowned in your own vomit."

E: (conman au 4) eye it is he’s caught. And to be fair, it doesn’t help that he’s doing double duty, feigning rapt attention as his mark rambles on.
