Eyes on the prize.
Aayla has not dock dived since Fall of 2016? So I didn't really know what to expect with having her jumping today. I knew she would swim, and that she would jump off the dock. My ultimate goal for dock diving has been to get her to actually track the toy and start jumping up after it. Normally she just runs straight out and ignores the toy and just finds it in the water. I wish I would have got it on film but at one point I held the toy at eye level for her, at the edge of the dock and released her from 5 feet way. She ran and jumped without even trying to grab the toy. So we worked on it, mostly it had to do with the type of throws I was giving her. I started tossing her stuff that practically had the toy in her face as she jumped. First few jumps she seemed surprised and ignored it, the next few she started snapping at it, then she finally started catching it! Super happy with her. I think it will take several more sessions to get her to get speed, height and toy tracking. Her record is around 15 feet I think? Today, with toy tracking she was only hitting about 10 feet, but I'm much happier with that. Super proud that we made this huge accomplishment with dock diving.
