“It’s me…? Hell, it’s me. It really is me. You’re ruined.” ((for gael from the soulmates meme uwu))
“What? You’re serious?” Courfeyrac glanced down at his arm, having not even really been paying much attention to it at all but sure enough, there they were, a line of zeros across his wrist signalling that this was the one person he was meant to be with for the rest of his life. And, well, that wasn’t exactly a very encouraging response, the other seemed less than enthused that he was the one chosen to be Courfeyrac’s soulmate, and that was a little concerning. “Well, it can’t be that bad, right? I mean, the universe or whatever seems to think it’ll work out, that has to mean something.”
Gael came rushing through the front door, a trail of frost left behind him as he immediately went into his bedroom and shut the door, sliding down to lean against it with his head tucked to his knees and his arms wrapped around himself.
The sharp scent of cold, mixing with the unique scent of Gael made her look up. The trail of frost made her move. The shut door made her wary.”Gael?” She leaned against the door, putting her hand against the wood and speaking slowly. “What’s going on?”
Gaël spent weeks debating on what to do for Bree for mother's day-- because he had to do /something/ after all she had done. Eventually he settled on something he could do. He started at night, freezing a patch in the backyard so that they could have a snowball fight before starting on the inside, waking her up that morning with green eggs and ham and a wide grin.
It was just like Gaël to do something for Mother's Day. Even if she wasn't his biological mother, she knew he felt that she was a maternal figure in his life. So she laughed when she saw the eggs, and she ate them happily, sharing the breakfast with her adopted mutant son. And she played in the snow with him, because what else can a mother do?
What the hell am I doing with this kid? I am not capable of being the mother he needs, I don't even know if what I'm doing is helping. I just want him to be okay so badly, I can't bear to send him away.
I'm way too lazy to make fancy graphics or do more than like find the URLs for this sorry but look I finally did it! I'm sure I missed someone but here's the minimal effort
"Bree?" Gaël knocked lightly on the doorway as he appeared, twisting his hands nervously, "I ah.... I may have accidentally frozen the pipes in the bathroom..."
She smiled sympathetically and put aside her work, walking over to the boy. "Let's go see if we can warm them up." He was going to need to learn how to control himself if she wanted to keep her hot water running.
