(Both of the Doctors grew up as introverted and a bit isolated, so comforting others is not their forte. Having said that...
Dr. Harvey, even though he’s good with words, prefers to comfort through actions. He’s a better one to vent to than to get advice. He’ll offer tissues or food, and if one is pretty close, get hugs and the like. That’s rare under any circumstances, though, but he’s willing.
Dr. Williams prefers to talk things out and have a conversation than just let someone vent. Of course, she will let someone talk if she feels herself as a nuisance. She’s a bit more open to physical comfort, but only just.
Of course, the two Doctors aren’t complete opposites, so they would be more opt to offer silent comfort depending on circumstance, such as, oh, having someone they view as a son taken away and turned into someone they didn’t make him as?
Lastly, receiving comfort is... varying. In general, Dr. Harvey is more ready to receive comfort than Dr. Williams is. What can I say? They’re more used to coping on their own, even if they’ve been friends for over a decade.)
