4 Year Wellness Check
Sweet Sass is 42lbs, and 3’6”. She is in the 89th percentile for height, and the 91st for weight. I brought up some concerns that I’ve been having about her development. Mostly reguarding gross motor skills, balance, and coordination (all of which she seems to be delayed in). I have brought this up several times before, but finally the pediatrician (we go to a practice with multiple doctors and don’t often see the same one twice in a row), decided to check out my concerns. Sass is extremely knock-kneed, and I’ve notice that her muscles are often very tense, especially in her legs. Every night after bath we do “baby massage” with lotion and a sleepy time blend of essential oils, and every night I tell HBS how strange I think it is that her legs are always SO TIGHT. She has no give in her hips whatsoever, and moving her ankles, calves, and quads is like moving bricks. They’re tight. But, on the other hand, her core is weak. She doesn’t tense when you pick her up, she just flops. I’ve brought this up to the doctors time and time again, but FINALLY the pediatrician took my concerns and decided to look into it. After attempting to stretch her legs, watching her walk, and evaluating her movements, the doctor said she would write me a script for a PT eval, and refer me to a neurologist. Since we don’t know any of her birth history, and some of her symptoms are common with CP, the ped thinks we should be seen by neuorology who will probably give her an MRI to check for any kind of abnormalities in her brain/spinal cord.
I know it’s nothing super serious and she is honestly okay, she just has awful balance and coordination and anything that can be done to help her is exactly what I’m going to do- just scary to think of her getting an MRI to be evaluated for something like this. Any experience or advice anyone has for me is greatly appreciated.
She also got immunizations today and ohhhh my poor mama heart could barely handle it.

I spent the day going to doctors appointments. Now I’m avoiding the homework I should have started last week. I started a tumblr to get out of homework. I can feel my parents disapproval from here.
