Swan House -230 Park Ave. - Beaver Dam WI by Meridith112 Via Flickr: National Register of Historic Places. Construction on the Queen Anne mansion began in 1898 for Dr. George and Mary Swan. He and his wife arrived in Beaver Dam in 1876. Dr. Swan practiced medicine and operated a popular resort on the site of the present Swan City Park. The building is one of the city's best known architectural treasures. This is thought by some to be a George Franklin Barber design.
