So my first doll was 10 yesterday (3rd April)! I held a mini birthday party for her, with some guests invited for special reasons 💖
The dolly rundown: Aurélie “Eden” (DOD Bee-A) was 10, ordered 14th February 2007, arrived 3rd April 2007 (technically 2nd but I picked her up on the 3rd from my split partner). Sylvian (DOD Too) - ordered separately in 2008, but to complete the set as her spiritual twin. Her actual twin, as far as I know, still lives with my original split partner! Sylvian was named by my mum after David Sylvian of the band Japan. Homunculus “Culi” (Luts Delf Nanuri 07 mod) - also turning 10 this year! She arrived in August, as a bit of an impulse purchase. She clearly was a good choice ;D Mitsukuni (Dollzone BB Jing) - another 10 year old. Bought after seeing one in person and then based on the Ouran HSHC character, I still haven’t made his uniform. Maybe for his August birthday? Evan Milsae (DOD Lahoo) - Surprise, another 10 year old! I was torn between several sculpts for this boy’s character, until I saw a Lahoo in person and that was the decision made. I bought this boy from Sephyelysian/Amet on DOA in the September. Ilye (Customhouse Seol-Hyang) - This girl is later, but if I had my doll choices over again she’d actually be from 2006. I was originally introduced to BJD autumn-time that year, and Seol-Hyang was the first doll that made me actually want one, with the Too/Bee-a set close behind. It took me a while to hunt her head down after Customhouse started their disappearing act! Melissa “Risa” (DOD Twin-b girl) - well, her head is from 2014. She’s in this photo because the body she’s on is Eden’s original old-style body! I bought Eden a new girl body in 2011 as a birthday present then, and it just lurked about for a while in the parts box. I asked if I could order a Twin-B head while ordering another doll, they said yes, and so Risa happened.
This year’s birthday gift for Eden? A Tender Bee-a head. 🎉
I also have a little bit of a Re-ment and Rilakkuma collection going on, I really should get on with turning the doll corner into an actual display sometime soon...
