I don't think you all understand how much i love Seeking A Friend For the End of the World. It's a comfort movie that I watched repeatedly during my unemployment when i first moved to Florida.

I watched it like every 2-3 weeks for MONTHS.

The premise. The characters. The cast. The soundtrack. The message. The tone. Fucking phenomenal.

I am obsessed with this movie. I am obsessed with Keira Knightley's character having all the makings of a manic pixie dream girl on the surface, but being giving the depth and dimension of a real human person in a crisis.

I am obsessed with Steve Carrell being a detached and demoralized sad sack who gets rocket launched into the literal adventure of a lifetime. His name is "Dodge" because he avoids life and relationships. And then the sacrifice. The sacrifice he makes at the end. I will never be over it.

This film easily became one of my top 10 favourite comfort movies of all time.

March 11, 2012 - The Asteroid Matilda Destroys Earth

After a mission to destroy or divert the asteroid Matilda from its trajectory toward Earth failed, all of humanity was given a three week head’s up that their planet was about to be destroyed. The humans all reacted in different ways: mass suicides, pillaging and looting, consequence-free sex and drug binges, and so on. Dodge Petersen reacted with total indifference, continuing to attend his insurance sales job as though nothing had changed, even though his wife left him. His neighbor Penny Lockhart dumped her boyfriend because he had caused her to miss her last chance to fly back to England and see her family.

Matilda collided with Earth on March 11, 2012, killing all of its inhabitants.

I think I can finally move on from the film. And it will definitely have a very special place in my heart. I wouldn't get tired even if I rewatch it over and over. It's like this film is my comfort-film (like comfort food or something) despite all the pain it caused me.

I planned to put Sorry in there but then I realized I don't know how to draw dogs aND I'M ANGRY AT MYSELF BECAUSE OF IT UGH.
