i was at an event last night in california and i went to the bar to order wine bc wine was like, a thing, and i looked at the menu and saw i was completely out of my depth bc idk any wine names, so i turned to my right and there was a man in a gorgeous suit standing at the bar beside me and i said “do you know anything about wine?” and he said “a little, yes!” i told him i liked white and dry wines and asked if he’d order for me. he asked the server for two glasses and had one poured for each of us and then he clinked his glass on mine but he didn’t take a sip, he just watched me taste mine and then he asked what i thought and i said “it’s pretty good, but like i said, i wouldn’t know.” he laughed and told me to have a good time & i walked away. fifteen minutes later i found out he’s the winemaker.

next time you see a piece of art you like take an extra minute to really take it in. next time you see a flower growing through the sidewalk cracks snap a pic of it. every time you hear a baby laugh, unexpectedly run into a friend, get to enjoy a tasty dessert, i need you to take a second and really drink it in because those little moments of light are going to make the fight worthwhile

it's just my 2 cents. Yes, Yuki sacrificed everything for Kaname to get a normal human life but that's never what he wanted. Just as like Kaname sacrificed his heart so Yuki can have a peaceful life.

Both of them sacrificed to give each other the good life but neither wanted that. Both of them wanted to be with each other. I know it's just making their sacrifices in vain but that's how Hino portrays how much they want to be with each other, specially Kaname. Normal human life means nothing if he cannot be with Yuki.

The ending makes no sense to some because it threw away Yuki's sacrifice, but that's not what he wants. He wants to be with Yuki. I think that's what Hino is trying to portray, the weight of their feelings and desire to be with one another.

Because I remember Hino said before that she couldn't accept the ending she gave in VK hence she made VKM. The idea of Kaname living a human life without Yuki doesn't sit right with her. But she also wants to give this story a tragic ending so I guess she went to the route of them dying together. for a tragic romance, dying together is much better than dying alone while the other one is alive i think is what she wants to show in her story.
