Mediocre is a game studio that is anything but what it sounds like. They make games on mobile devices that have great value, and for the most part can be enjoyed for free. If you decide you adore the game, you can get the premium version. In this way, only those that really enjoy their games will pay any money. Or if somebody just has excess cash of course. But the business model is interesting. Smash Hit was quite a Smash Hit for me, a very simple Ball Throwing Game about hitting and breaking Glass or Crystal objects while moving along like in a rail shooter. Pretty, Fantastic audio, and free to start. You really should give it a go if you have an Android or other compatible device. Does Not Commute is another great one. It gives very simple (But tricky) controls to let a player drive various folk in a community to where they want to be. One by one, you witness intertwined lives through the lens of their windshields. The characters have issues, hopes, fears, and often an addiction or two. And their screwed up lives are fun to see unfold. The gameplay however, pits you against your past self through a clever temporal effect: When you play as a character, the route and actions you take play out as you control all the other characters in that chapter. So you may have a traffic jam made up entirely of your own haphazard driving. Overall, this second game is perhaps my favorite. It seems to create an interesting metaphor for consequences of actions and their cumulative impact on those around us. Check it out!
