I've had kinda mixed feelins about Punchline (as opposed to Punchline-core, who is awesome), but her as the villain in last year's Gotham City Sirens? Peak. She really established herself as a unique and fun character there.
(Art sampled from "Gotham City Sirens" Vol. 2 #1 by Leah Williams, Matteo Lolli, Triona Farrell, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, Jessica Berbey, and Arianna Turturro. Edits: Dialogue.)
1) Nov. 9, 1993: “Unix programmers” "This might be my all-time favorite Dilbert comic. When I was on the speaking circuit I always used it to end my talks to thunderous laughter. It’s naughty, clever, and it has a point of view. And it makes the reader imagine what happened before that moment shown in the comic and what might happen after. It’s rare to pack so many elements in one comic."
[1:29:40] There is a CREATOR, WHO hard-codes the Universe to make sure that the game plays period. beautifully stated, and yes there are some games that have an alternate free trial version where it has no such built-in assurance & you hit stalemate no matter what you do to go back & run different strategies to win.. it's this incentive to buy the real game, which is what I call the present situation we see the world in, where the majority of us are forcing various strategies & running out of options. Until we are fully gridlocked & out of options, politically/financially this swamp is going to make you find yourself suddenly in a situation where none of your buffers can stop the onslaught (law of the jungle). Some of you are clinging to AI as a life raft to save you out of this hole, it is going to fail; some are going to curl up into a ball, others will be prompted to pray to GOD for comfort through this messy period.
Thank you for bringing up these two topics, I've never tried to marry them together before, but you definitely helped me to see that the hyper-tuned universe is an ongoing sensitivity built into the whole game of life—where we either pray for guidance from GOD, or suffer the frustration of running into one wall after another no matter what we do.
Case in point, there is a book I read from the guy who pioneered computer and hobbyist magazines in the UK—in his book How to Get Rich (2011) mentions how everyone at this ritzy social club would all know of this incredibly bright young man whom they all had high hopes of making it big bc of the depth & breadth of his knowledge. But alas one business venture after another collapsed, the sad truth they came to accept was luck, if you ain't got it—you ain't gonna make it. Look at the pricing difference: $14.95USD vs. $27.00 (discount $19.95)
Felix Dennis did not win, he led a life of hookers & blow—so in the end he also ended up being a loser. My point is no one escapes unscathed regardless if you get to make your dollar dollar bills. What I liked about him was his refreshing honesty, not many ppl do it bc they care too much about what other ppl think.
A "hyper fine-tuned universe" refers to the idea that the universe's fundamental physical constants and laws are so precisely balanced within extremely narrow ranges that life, as we know it, could only arise in such an improbable configuration, deliberate design by the CREATOR.
Based on recent reports, OpenAI's path forward with ChatGPT, particularly regarding the rollout of advanced models like GPT-5, is facing significant hurdles, characterized as a "rocky" transition. Key issues and future trends include:
GPT-5 Rollout Challenges: Early versions of advanced models have shown inconsistencies in understanding context compared to earlier versions. Users have observed a shift toward data-driven responses.****
User Experience Concerns: The tool sometimes feels "broken" or less effective. There are errors in memory management and a tendency to make unauthorized changes to content.
Growing Competition: The AI market is becoming more competitive, with rivals such as Claude 3.7, Grok 3, and Gemini 2.5 Pro. These competitors rival or outperform ChatGPT in certain areas.
Safety and Transparency Criticisms: OpenAI's transparency and safety approach continue to face criticism.
Agentic AI Shift: The platform is moving toward "agentic" AI, which acts as an autonomous assistant capable of completing complex tasks.
OpenAI is developing more advanced capabilities, with a focus on human-like interaction and improved reasoning..
Agentic AI refers to intelligent systems that can autonomously set goals, plan, and execute complex, multi-step tasks with minimal human oversight, learning and adapting as they go, unlike traditional AI that primarily responds to direct commands. These AI agents act as independent workers, using various tools and data sources to achieve objectives, making them powerful for automating workflows, managing logistics, and handling complex decision-making in dynamic environments.
Entire wildly successful industries have been based on freemium models of distribution, yet capitalists will tell you with a straight face that if basic necessities were available free of charge to everyone society would collapse upon itself and mass privation would ensue.
