Ugh I am so sorry about posting this cos it's pErSonAL and I know yall are here for DA/Tolkien content. Also tw for racism ahead.

I absolutely cannot deal with my dad's racism. He completely shuts me down because I'm a minor and tOo yOunG to understand things. To make matters worse, he won't listen to my brother or his girlfriend who are in their twenties. The stuff he says is franky disgusting and every single time we call him out for it and try to educate him on things it goes through one ear and out the other.

He tries to change the subject and twist the narrative so it's in his favour. I've heard him make racist comments before and I've called him out on it, but we've never had a full blown argument before. It shouldn't even be a cause for argument because it's literally SO simple! Don't be racist!

I am so sorry for ranting on here, I'm just at a loss on what to do. My brother says that our dad won't change and he might be right, but I want to do something. Because when we get comfortable with the subject, that's when everything's screwed up. Racism is not a comfortable subject nor should it be considered so. It shouldn't even be up for debate!

He blames it on his education and the fact that he was brought up in a small village in Turkey, but that's no excuse at all? There are millions of articles and thousands of documentaries explaining systemic racism but he won't make the effort.

I want to... I don't know. I just want him to see that he's being ignorant and most of his "funny" comments are racist and harmful. He tried to pull the reverse racism card tonight and I just have no words.

I feel like this won't be the last time we talk about this. Do you think it's a good idea if I create a doc of articles + stats + factual evidence that I can bring up? I don't want to give up. I want to make sure that he sees properly, but he's so narrow minded.
