As a person who just recently got a puppy, I adore this idea, but I have a caution. If you're not going to leave the bottom drawer open all day, you'll need another spot to set out a water bowl. You should not leave your dog without water for too long, especially during the summer months.
Otherwise, this is a really neat idea for people like me who are strapped for space in an apartment. It keeps the dog food all together, neat and out of the way. This is especially great when you babysit so that you can close it up and the little ones aren't the wiser.
I'm going to be doing this myself as soon as the puppy gets a little taller, but I am already browsing for a cheap (not in quality, but price), but cute used dresser unit of appropriate size to renew for this project.
