Karson: "Crating is a work in progress. After living in a kennel before arriving at SHH, it’s not his favorite place to be at the moment, so we are working on positive associations and gradually increasing the time he spends in it. He gets all meals and special treats in there, and is definitely showing progress as he will now go in there at times of his own volition and just sit inside. I feel he’d also do fine uncrated in a dog-proof room/area when you’re gone, and have been trying this out for gradually increasing periods of time when I need to leave. When I check in on him, he’s just sleeping on the couch.
