Is Avery a complex character?

I personally don’t see it. I’ve read the series twice, two years apart and stand by that statement.

The way people perceive and interpret characters is different for everyone, so I don’t think Avery’s complex but that is just my opinion. Other people will argue that she is, which is totally valid.

In the same way I think Lyra is complex (pre TGB) but some people will said she’s not which is valid too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
