This is Captain!!! He is the Washinton Capitals’ team dog and is currently in training to be a service dog! Don’t you think he’s just the cutest?? You can find him on twitter @capspup!
I think the NHL only started having team dogs in recent years (Captain was introduced to us in October last year if I’m not mistaken) but not all NHL teams have team dogs. Recently, the NHL had an All Star competition featuring 8 team dogs (!!):
Also, I’m not sure if all the team dogs are from the same organisation or not, but Captain and Tori (NYI’s dog) are apart of America’s Vet Dogs and they’ve recently partnered with MLS. Atlanta United FC announced they were adopting Spike only a few days ago! Hopefully, Spike will be the first of many in the MLS (because I need more football/soccer dog content)
