aw, i loved the ficlet. thank you for writing it. it really captured some of the things i like best about the to the pure 'verse. i really like the glimpses of the knights culture and hux's curiosity about them (now that he's stopped having the vapours) and i really really like the way the knights treat hux a bit like that cat you always see hanging around the bins and just decide to adopt one day.

Ha, that is exactly what he’s like. Sad little starving cat that has never even eaten real food!

Man, it has been so long since I wrote that fic I messed up my own characters’ names and had to go back and fix it -_- It’s blood-spiraling-in-green-water, not swirling - GAWD.

i’m actually trying to work up the nerve to go to this barbershop next time; a guy i know (with a very sharp haircut :D) said he had a great experience there. but they’re really super near to my office, which gives me pause.

Yeah. I went for a walk on my own up into town to get a few things while I had the energy. But I felt worse and worse as I headed home. I sat down on a bench in the park for a few minutes and texted the mister, who was on his way home. I said not to worry about picking me up but he did anyway so I burst into tears when I got into the car. I was like ten minutes walk from home, or less. I told him that I think the counselling got to me, that it was good but emotionally exhausting. I was okay yesterday, for the most part. the waffling back and forth between being okay and not feeling quite myself this morning wasn't great but it's like I just hit the wall and crumbled.

I had a coffee and a nap when back and helped the boys bake a jelly/jell-o cake (they are doing the jelly bit now). I feel more worn down now but there isn't much to do now but dinner and Netflix. That I think I can do that.

loved the mountebank so much. i wondered what hux's deal was, but it turned out the be far better that i could have imagined. hilarious. also, i had a flatemate who used to exclusively date LARPers and medieval reenactor so the knight of ren made me laugh in nostalgic horror. the snakebite and black! ren posing with his broadsword! the scampi fries! i can see them now, all geek culture t shirts and dubious hygiene. good times

You know, I was just chuckling to myself as I read this and thinking ‘ha ha, imagine exclusively dating LARPers’ and my brain just hit me with a terrible flashback to the time I did, for a hot minute, date a LARPer. He was the ‘cool’ one in his group, because he had social skills and a working washing machine. 

Would that I could forget but, alas, all the snakebite and black in the world cannot wash away my sins.

hello! just wanted to say that i loved little scarlet. ddlg is usually not my thing at all but you made it my thing somehow. maybe the degree of negotiation? anyway, so good. plus today i met a puppy that was so cute i didn't mind when it peed on me. seriously, so cute, like something made by jim henson.

i'd love to see the knight of ren take their newest initiate on pilgrimage. it's totally a pilgrimage. just because they shared a ritual bath, drank brightly coloured libations with paper decorations then ceremonially passed a sacred orb from person to person over a net that doesn't make it a holiday, hux. now put on the sacred vestments. yes i know they look like brightly patterned shorts, but still, sacred pilgrimage. put them on.

I’m really sorry I didn’t answer this prompt post about A THOUSAND YEARS AGO when you sent it. It’s completely perfect and succinct. I don’t think I could add anything to this concept or its execution, except perhaps a soundtrack.
