I nearly made myself cry thinking about how often Tobias Forge talks about hating his voice. He creates some of the most moving music I've ever heard. The sort that reaches inside you and runs its fingers up your very soul, brushing over nerves you didn't even know you had. Using something he doesn't like about himself???
Perhaps it's because I hate my own voice, as well. but it both breaks my heart and inspires me. Just because you dislike something about yourself, doesn't mean others will feel the same. You could be doing beautiful and wonderful things with something you don't like about yourself. And people will love you for it. It's not only possible, but people do it all the time.
I'm now halfway through @sarahlizziewrites 'Chrissie's of London' and I have more thoughts, but mostly feels.
To spare you all tl;dr: it's amazing, I love it, there isn't enough keyboard smashes in the world for me to express just how good this book is.
I've put in the cut for those of you brave/stupid enough to venture deeper into my ramblings about 'Chrissie's' and you've only got yourselves to blame.
Firstly, I have a correction regarding my earlier post, in which I stated that the book is told from Silas' POV. Whilst I wasn't wrong, per se, we have three POV characters; Silas, Jacques and Loretta, and each of them have a unique and strong voice.
Loretta is my queen, and I love her. Jacques still needs a hug, and Silas, my little precious, earnest baby, needs a cup of tea and something for his monster hangover; probably a roll and bacon with brown sauce (although, I wouldn't want to ruin his suit more that he already has <.<)
The plot is *amazing*; I love the twists and turns. And how Sarah describes every setting and costume, every scene is so vivid and real. I can tell how much love and research that she has put into this story; it's honestly such a good read.
(I'm going to say something very controversial, and I would like you all to appreciate how brave I am being in stating this publicly, but- in my opinion- I think 'Chrissie's' is better than Sitora! And you *all* know how much I loved Sitora when I got the chance to read Honesty's Cost)
I would love to ramble more, but I promised Sarah that I wouldn't post any spoilers, so everything is a bit vague post-y, as I don't want to put any details out there that might constitute a spoiler.
Needless to say, if this story is ever publicly posted, or becomes available in any format (fuck, if this book is not professionally published, then there is no hope left in the universe!), you 👏need 👏to 👏read 👏 it 👏
Everyone needs to experience the emotional gut punch of Jacques' "LEAVE HIM BE" followed up shortly after with Silas' "losing him isn't an option". Ugh. My heart!

Anywho, Runnicka's story is coming to AO3 in November, and I just know Tashie's writing is as good as her cooking! So you should definitely check it out
