damian wayne as a character being disconnected from bruce is good because its a narrative that prioritizes childrens right to choose if they want to be a part of a family unit. him remaining distant to his traumatized mother & refusing to engage with his traumatized father while also refusing the attention of selina because of his loyalty to talia & then engaging only with alfred as a source of parental affection because the grandfather is capable of caring for him as the father is not is very good for his character & for promoting the agency of children as a whole & i'm really not fond kf the post supersons shift to aggressively marketing him as bruces son & partner & the next generation of the justice league because it strips all of that way in favour of an inheritance narrative that prioritizes bruces right to an heir to the empire over the agency of children

williamson did well with his relationship with talia & i'm sure she'll be a part of his new comic with bruce but i would genuinely prefer her having a more exclusive relationship with him for the time being because these batman & robin comics they make with him always get cancelled in like two years because the focus on bruce isn't right for him as a character
