Some of these k-pop edit creators are sooo good at finding unreleased Doja Cat songs for their edits bro. 😭😭 I've discovered at least 2 unreleased Doja tracks just by watching k-pop edits. But here's the thing, Doja is one of my fave musicians and I've listened to almost all of her official albums, deluxe albums, remixed songs, extended versions, tracks where she has a feature, tracks where she's a featured artist, you name it. Hell, she has remained my top artist (according to YouTube) for five years straight, since 2020. You'd expect someone like me to know all of her unreleased songs and where to find them. But I'm actually so lost when it comes to this. 😭 I literally wouldn't have known about ABSOLUTE BANGERS like 'Boom' and 'Generous' if it wasn't for k-pop edits. Maybe it's because I don't spend a lot of time digging around for her unreleased songs?? And even if I did, there's no way I'd find ALL of them; who knows how many there are in the first place. 💀 I wonder how these edit creators find them. Also, I don't understand why she never released these tracks... her stans (including myself) would've EATEN THEM UPPPP!!! I swear, 'Boom' and 'Generous' could've potentially been her longest-charting/highest-ranking hits. Sigh. 😮💨
I heard 'Boom' in an edit of a BTS member a few years ago, and immediately recognized Doja's voice, but not the song. So I searched and found that it's an unreleased track that was leaked... and a k-pop edit creator found it before I could. 💀 The song feels somewhat "incomplete"; but with a second verse, bridge, outro, proper production and mixing, it would be UNSTOPPABLE.
I discovered 'Generous' last month, through an edit of I.N from Stray Kids, and immediately became OBSESSED with it. Like, it ended up at #2 in my quarterly YouTube wrapped (March-May). 'Generous' isn't exactly an "unreleased" song though. Doja had apparently played it during a livestream back in 2020 and released it only on SoundCloud a few days later. So, it's a partial release. This song is basically 'Streets'' sister and would've fit perfectly in Planet Her, I think.
Anyway, thanks to the k-pop edit creators for introducing me to these unreleased BANGERS, I guess. Please continue using Doja's unreleased tracks in your edits so that I can keep finding gems like these. 🤍
