doji's son au. an excerpt

i only ever really talk about this in the discord server, but i'm going insane. i'm still in the early stages of my fanfic, but i wanted to share it anyway. it lives in my head rent-free.

canon is a suggestion. they are like my special dolls.

anyway, uh. doji's son au? masamune is doji's son. he's more or less involved in all the dark nebula bs, more or less against his will. and i'll make a more comprehensive post about this later. for now enjoy this excerpt from my fanfic.

it features everyone's favorite ancient god king spirit dead alive boy ryuuga, doji, and masamune who is like... five. plays some time after ryuuga was discovered. suspend your disbelief about it a bit, it's an au for a reason.

Ryuuga was not someone to be messed with or regarded to without caution. He supposed anyone else would not consider it a smart move to let his young son play with the other, with minimal supervision and no safety precautions. Masamune had been happy enough to accept Ryuuga as a new addition to the family, regarding the other with curiosity at first, before quickly deciding that he liked him. He’d tried convincing the other to play more times than Doji cared to remember, and each time he’d been turned down. It was a wonder there had been no tantrums following the rejections, but Masamune had surprised him with his determination, never giving up, and persisting despite the obvious disinterest the other displayed. Masamune had told his father he wanted to convince the other to battle him, but that was where Doji had drawn the line. They might not yet have the forbidden bey in their possession just yet, but even without it, he knew that a Bey in Ryuuga’s hands was not to be underestimated. He doubted that Ryuuga would care that his opponent was a child, and while he may not be the most affectionate father, even Doji did not want his son killed by the brute force a god could conjure up. That meant, though, that Masamune’s means of convincing Ryuuga were limited and his arsenal was next to nothing. Of course a god emperor would not want to play dolls with a young boy. It was a ridiculous thought, that it felt almost like a fever dream to see it right in front of his eyes. More or less, at least. Ryuuga wasn’t playing, at least not really. He was holding up a doll, regarding it with minimal interest while Masamune was trying to explain the plot of his little game to him. It was one of those stories that Doji had never cared enough for to know what it was actually about, so it wasn’t as if he was following along, but it was one that Masamune seemed particularly passionate about. He heard him flip between his languages in his excitement, and then carry on as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Ryuuga either seemed to not mind or not care. He wondered if language barriers would even be an issue to the entity, and Doji made a mental note to test that later on.

Yu vs Reji: Planned all along

So we all know Doji is a cruel bastard and what he did to Yu as a prime example of his bastard status. But what if I tell you I can make it worse. I can make you even angrier.

What if I told you no matter what happened Reji vs Yu was planned all along. Doji never planned to keep Yu even if he had won. How do I know that? Well..

Look at the original line up for the second round.

Gingka vs Reji which means no matter who won that battle would have battled Reji. And guess who was Gingka’s opponent? Exactly Yu. Doji is such a bastard I can’t believe it (actually I can)

Now I do think that Doji expected Gingka to win however that doesn’t change the fact Doji is a bastard beyond what we expected.

im actually doing this wooo !!! starting off with some warriors au ryodoji :}

had no idea how to cat-ify this so they ran into some fireflies on a nightly walk !! blazepaw has never seen them before so he’s a little too fascinated (wolfpaw has seen them….multiple times. but he won’t ruin his fun)

i actually have a lot of doodles of this au (i make warriors aus for everything), but these are the only ones i’ve colored kinda sorta lol. i’m still experimenting with coloring bc i hate it </3

i’m v much not a fan of drawing ryo and/or doji (i havent practiced) so i drew them as cats 🫡 so far i’m thinking their prefixes are probably gonna be wolf and blaze bc. duh. they’re younger here tho so it would be wolfpaw and blazepaw :}

hopefully i’ll color more of the other doodles bc i love drawing cats :’)
