“Heh, always flashy when it comes to your cooking, aren’tcha?”
“Why would I not have fun doing what I love, especially as my career in a place as grand as this?” chuckled the jolly green-eyed Bisharp, before eying any other passersby. Immediately, he picked himself back up and bowed to the newcomer. “Ah, look sharp, Doki, I think we have another customer!”
“HAH! Sharp, I get it,” laughed the little Pawniard as she rolled her eyes.
“Ahaha, greetings, and welcome to The KiriKuisine of the Altiel Battle League Foodcourt! I am Takeshi! And who might you be?”
"It started as early as my childhood, to tell you the truth!" Chortled the jolly Bisharp as he went straight for the Gothitelle's order, happily and flashily cooking it away as he began to tell his journey of inspiration.
"Ever since I was a child I was enthralled not just by the taste of my mother's cooking talent, but how cooking could be so simple in some cases, yet particular and complex in others! It was like, ah, how do I say this... it was like watching chemistry, except this is chemistry you could eat! Sort of like that! She taught me as much as she could before I took charge of leading my own life, which was what spurred my desire to cook, to a NEED to do so. That was when I truly decided to become inspired and experiment with various dishes given what my new home's surroundings provided. The resources were different, so it was like a challenge! A fun challenge to see how new different ingredients worked!"
Takeshi broiled the steak and simmered it with light spices and sauces, tossing in some other ingredients as the stove made a soft hiss, all while Doki eyed the two men in fascination over their gear.
"Being limited in what I could do proved to be beneficial, especially when having new company come into your life! Bonus points if the company was as hard to please as my friend Athena. The fact that she was the one that made such a recommendation and realizing my potential as a cook was saying a LOT, let me tell you!" Takeshi remarked with excitement, grinning over how his skill managed to even reel in some compliments from such a grouchy Gallade. Soon enough, the meal for the Gothitelle was almost to completion, setting up the last touches as he approached the counter.
"Working as a chef for the Kirikuisine, a humble little food stand that specializes in exotic seafood as well as flavorful pastas and cheesy meat dishes at the Altiel Battle League of all places!” He chuckled heartily. “I don’t like to brag, but... I've never felt more proud of myself to work in such a grand establishment!" The green-eyed Bisharp beamed, almost as much as Doki did who admired the Scrafty's hood. Before letting himself get carried away, Takeshi finally set the food down for Haos, bowing afterwards as to allow the Gothitelle to take in the succulent sights and scent of the meat-based dish.
“For starters, its hide must be removed and disposed of, unless you, well, plan to use that metal-like coating for something else...? Or of you have friends who prefer to eat iron-like material rather than traditional meats...?” Takeshi pondered aloud, finding the idea a bit too convenient, but he shook off the thought before continuing on with more confidence.
“Regardless! Skarmory meat is a... Ah, how do I say this? A very niche sort of food around here! While it’s quite lean and rich in iron, protein and various nutrients valuable for rock, ground and steel types, it’s also tough and still requires time to simmer to nail it just right! That, and the flavor is described as, ‘a blend of liver and turkey with a hint of a nutty, almost apricot-ish aftertaste?’ At least that’s what the locals in this city say!”
While Doki was astonished by Gigit’s appearance, Takeshi could only chuckle befor resuming his advice.
“To achieve the best results for making a meal of such a robust bird of prey, I say start with the hearty and rewarding Slow-Roasted Skarmory Cuts! Its taste would be described as a savory trip of lip-smacking delicious iron-rich poultry roasted, seasoned with spices and lightly coated in broth and its own meaty juices! You can even serve it with rice, beans or lettuce to add a touch of extra flavor for effect! Wild rice makes it even better! In fact... I have a recipe and photo of the end result right here!” The Bisharp seemed to be just as lively TALKING about food preparation as he is doing it, having almost a burning fighting spirit sort of passion from the exchange! He reached from under the counter and pulled out a photo from a recipe folder, as well as a copy of the meal for the Bishvoir.
“I hope this works well for your husband! And if there are any recipes you wished to share, I’d love to hear!” Takeshi’s positive gleam was almost contagious with how bright he is. After giving the two sheets to Gigit, he pondered aloud while looking up.
“Ahaha, I admit, I’ve always been a fan of Crabominable food, but it’s so rare to come across the meat, much less any recipes for it... But if not, that’s alright! Just enjoy this recipe!”
