“HEEHEE~! Sorry Alyx, I absolutely had to~!”

“Oh goodness! B-brother, are you, a-ahaha, a-are you alright?”

“Tch, s’nothing sis, it’s just snow, though okay... alright Li, you got me good there... Don’t think I’m lettin’ ya get off without return fire though.”

“Oooh, got that fighting spirit back huh~? YOU’RE ON LIL BRO!”

~*Meanwhile, in the dining hall...*~

“♪ Hey, today is our holiday- A great day has come, we’ve waited so long- Hey, it’s our special holiday- It’s a day for only you and me- Let’s throw away our tired hearts- Here, we just need to have fun~!♪“

Even though they weren’t official performers for the partygoers of the lounge; with Caprice’s energetic voice, Cassie’s magical showmanship and their high spirits and charm, they entertained and provided music for the dining hall. And for the most part, the audience seemed to like it! Or at least not mind!

“Oh wow...” Takeshi, the upbeat chef and friendly face of Altiel’s foodcourt staff, was glancing at the finger foods for quite a while. Despite loading up a plate, he hasn’t even touched them afterwards, and was more fascinated with the presentation.

“Such simplistic appetizers... and yet so cleverly designed...! The brownies in particular...! This gives me an idea...!”

... And then there was one...

The tall Dark Knight seemed to be a touch less enthused than all the others. While Eira admired the work, ears and wings oh so slightly aflutter nearby, Zarathos merely sighed at what he deemed to be millenial cacophony.

“... I suppose the true musical entertainment isn’t until later...” grumbled the taller, darker masked Bisharp, before rising from his seat and leaving the dining hall. Not a fan, to say the least, as he stepped outside to take in the cold, paying no heed to anyone who stared at him.

“Such ruckus. Certainly there are other activities that would at the very least hold my attention for more than a minute...” he grumbled to himself...

‘Oh my gosh, you think we could go ice-skating next? I’m full of hot cocoa and ready to go-go~!’

‘Man how’re you wearing only that and not gnashing your teeth? It’s snowing and everything!’

‘Lemme tell you, I can’t wait for the main event later tonight! It’ll be the time to show my REAL Christmas spirit!’

All this excited banter, all the friendly smiling faces passing by, the shouts and laughter of people enjoying themselves with snowball fights and snowmen-building, blended with the gentle winter breeze and tender flakes of snow landing delicately at the partygoers... anyone could find a reason to be happy at this event, as if the yuletide spirit itself has blessed this location. To say it was a beautiful holiday festivity would be an understatement.

While everyone was bustling about heading to the next thrilling event on their to-do lists, an albino Gallade has been leaning his back up against the wall and staring off onto the stretch of white. Every few seconds snowflakes would fall on his bangs or his scarred face, giving subtle signs of discomfort before sweeping them away. In his hand was a cup of hot cocoa, whose steam was steadily lost to the icy air, as evident not only while it was in his grasp, but as he raised it up to finish that last mild gulp of chocolate.

“Mmngh...”

Brushing the back of his hand across his lips, the white swordsman casually arced the emptied cup into a nearby bin, not even noticing how clean a shot it was. Any time Alyx was addressed by a passerby, the white blade briefly flashed a cool smile as well as a playful fingergun point or salute at them, then waved off the greeters before returning to his distant gaze.

<<Heh...>> he thought to himself, his face forcing a weak, bothered smirk as his thoughts resurface to him one by one, <<Wish I had Li’s or even Oriel’s enthusiasm right about now... that says somethin’ when even my biological sis musters up more pep than me.>> Waving his head to the side and flaking off any other bits of snow, the Gallade lifted his head up to gaze at the wintery skies.

<<Guess I should stop hangin’ out so much -- no... THINKING so much and get a move on. I’m just wastin’ time standing around like this... c’mon Al, it’s a party after all.>>

With a light push off the dining building’s wall, Alyx stretched himself backwards and yawned, curving his frame with an arm folded behind his head and the other reaching over, before swinging his arms down after that satisfying crunch.

<<Li and Oriel said they’d be inside the lounge... guess I can go over and mingle in there first. Start off slow,>> the mellow swordsman pondered as he paced through the snow, hoping to rekindle his social spirit.

“I know it’s meant to be done with a group, but uh, I’m more used to riling up a crowd through the ring than on a performance stage. Not that I can’t do it, I just uh... it’s more of a... personal hobby, let’s put it at that.” Alyx merely shrugged it off as  he nicked off a piece of the candy cane, nodding his head.

“Maybe I’ll give it a go here... it’s a party after all, mostly strangers ‘n’ whatnot. Thanks for the idea, dude.” As the white swordsman enjoyed his treat, he shot a nonchalant smirk at the excited Gothitelle.

“You though? Ya look more like the guy that’s ready to hype a crowd with that raw enthusiasm, I mean you’re practically glowin’ with it, and not just ‘cause of the visor either.” Al chuckles a little bit. “You plannin’ on givin’ that karaoke thing a go yourself? Is that why ya brought it up? Just wonderin’, that’s all. Name’s Alyx, by the way.”

While Oriel took a nibble, Alyx gave a friendly and polite little wave at the offer. “They look good, miss, but uh, I think I’ll pass this time. Tryin’ to mind my diet, don’t wanna take in too much sweet stuff.”

“Oh Alyx, since when has that ever been a concern to you? You always exercise it off regardless... enjoy the holidays a little more, won’t you please?”

“Aheh, I know sis, I really should. I appreciate it, ma’am, we both do,” Alyx grinned at the Florges before deciding to take one, or at least, the smallest-looking one in the bag. “Much thanks.”

“As for us? We’re quite enjoying ourselves, oh yes~!” The Gardevoir chirped shyly, smiling at the floral sylph. “We’re reconnecting with so many others... it’s a wonderful break from our professions.”

“No kiddin’.”

“And yourself...? Have the festivities treated you well thus far...? ... Ah, yes! How rude of me, I am Oriel...” she dipped her head as she greeted Genevieve,  “and this is my brother Alyx.”

“Yo,” the Gallade responded mellowly with a light thumbs up.
