1. If you’re an author, how many WIPs do you currently have? (Be honest!)

I have three WIPs, all of which are either eventual novel/novella-length fics. There’s Adventures in Not Dying, which is a bittersweet but hopeful gen fic with Loki and Thor tracking down Jörmungandr in and across Iceland and its waters in a post-Endgame world. 

There’s also The Heart of Jotunheim, which is a collab between myself and the wonderful Hosio, who happens to be a fantastic artist. It’s an eventual frostiron fic with massive escape room vibes and lots of Jotun stuff going on. Only one chapter is up at the moment but I’ve got at least another 20K words drafted out so it’ll get longer. 

And there’s also a frostiron rockstar AU I’m not going to start posting until I’ve written a first draft of the whole thing, which’ll be my first attempt at writing Tony’s POV (I’m hoping I won’t inadvertently make him sound too British – writing American voices is hard) and it’s gonna be a fantastic excuse to sneak in discussions of the music industry/rock history and ‘worldbuild’ with creating Tony’s band’s/solo career. ...I’m also trying out my hand in creating some visual graphics to go along the story for this one? Like Tony’s band’s logo, album covers, posters, merch, that kind of thing. Can’t guarantee they’ll make it in, but it’s definitely a thing I’m interested in doing. Oh, and lyrics too. Apparently the music feeling real is a thing I’m going for with this one but I’d lying if I claimed to be any good at songwriting.

7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?

Hmm... I’m not sure I can actually remember a thing I’ve read that’s made me cry? But the last thing I read that hit the hardest, emotionally speaking, was My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell. Although it has now just occurred to me this ask was about fanfic, not original fiction, so... Return of Hug Fortress by theorytale hits hard in places. It’s nowhere near as fluffy as the title suggests, but it’s an absolutely fantastic frostiron fic. One of my favourites, actually, and there are some things that Tony goes through which are, without giving any spoilers away, very rough to read about. Executed brilliantly, but rough emotionally speaking, that is. Can’t recommend that fic enough, especially if you’re a frostiron fan!

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?

Tricky. It just depends on the execution, I think. If it’s fake dating then I’d want a stupendously slow burn friends to lovers with both characters riddled with doubt and pining and the bittersweetness of them thinking it’s the only way they’ll get to do things like hold hands with the other person so they’re valuing every second of it. But the reason for the fake dating and believing their feelings are unreciprocated would have to be very plausible, which is probably very tricky to pull off. 

With an arranged marriage I’d want everything to be terrible. I’d want to get glimpses of the characters involved having the potential to be a good team, but having a thoroughly miserable time due to having to marry against their will. Then they end up getting ripped away from each other and spending years apart, and it’s not until they’re reunited that they realise there might’ve been something in it after all, and then they can finally make the decision for themselves to stay married and combine their skills to become the ultimate power couple and... Oh wait, I’m just describing one of the things I wished happened at the end Game of Thrones

Okay am i making this up or is there a like chase/fight on a freeway? Like god the one thats coming to mind is the starfish one, but its been ages since I read a lot of them.

There are a few, and I’m definitely missing at least one, but off the top of my head:

MM1 has, of course, the whole delightful sequence with Marco and Jake driving around first a suburban neighborhood, then a freeway, then the suburban neighborhood again because Marco got lost, all the while being chased by a veleek

Also in MM1, however, is the moment when Rachel runs from the veleek as a human and only escapes because she runs out onto the highway and it gets distracted by the process of shredding an ice cream truck

In #32 there is that sequence with Jake and Rachel’s wimpy half on the roof of a tractor trailer as it’s heading for a Sharing front organization, including a close call with getting blown off

In #28 all six kids land on the roof of a moving transport truck as birds, demorph and sneak inside as humans/andalites/birds, and conceal themselves as test chimpanzees

#49 has Tobias and Marco pull the switcheroo between Champ and Tobias in order to evacuate Loren through having Loren strategically walk under a highway overpass

Not technically a highway, but Tobias and Rachel end up riding the roof of a cop car through heavy urban traffic in #23

In #11 the act of flying across a road in the rain as a group of house flies proves to be the single most dangerous part of the mission, even though there are no controllers involved and Tobias is there to guide them

My personal favorite: the sequence in #51 where Marco and Tobias accidentally drive a tank onto the highway, promptly get into a game of chicken with a giant truck, and only win when Tobias swings the gun turret around and pretends to be willing to shoot said truck to get it out of their way

In #45 Marco permanently traumatizes his dad by driving Peter’s car through heavy traffic at 90 MPH to get them away from various controllers

So, like, I wouldn’t say that the books ever have a strictly classic car chase, and there’s definitely nothing Matrix: Reloaded style with the highway itself becoming the major setting for an extended action sequence.  But the Animorphs do spend more driving and/or evading cars than your average American ninth graders.  Also, like I said, I’m definitely missing a few examples, so hopefully other people with better memories can help me fill them in.

let us not forget 'WERE MAKING A MOVIE' was big news a year after they said the same thing like they've shot themselves in the foot so hard

That was very embarrassing and also a huge red flag that their movie news, one year after the initial announcement, was that the movie...will happen. Wow!

You mentoned dragon!AUs and Soulmate!AUs, so I tried to incorporate both of them. I hope you like it.

It was a warm night. Yuuri had finally shifted into sleep and in doing so his astral projection had tilted his head against Victor's. He had his legs folded to his chest, feet covered in scales siding the ground. A gentle drizzled was pouring from the starred sky, but Yuuri's folded wings provided a satisfying enough protection. Victor scooted a bit nearer Yuuri's astral projection, eventually wrapping his left arm around Yuuri's. It never failed to surprise Victor how Yuuri's human body was only a vision and yet it could be somehow touched. It was only a bit cold. In gazing lovingly at his soulmate, Victor recalled the words Yuuri had said clear and loud in his mind the first day they met, in a clearance in a forest so different from the one they were now. The moment Victor's soulmark had burnt so hard he had cried in pain.

"My family was a family of dragon shapeshifter. I was too until someone cursed me forever in dragon form."

And Victor had understood the boy standing next to the dragon wasn't his rider, but the boy himself. With time he learnt he was the only one who could see such astral projection. "Don't worry," he whispered against Yuuri's hair, as Yuuri's powerful tail twitched in his sleep, "we'll break the curse and then we'll be happy"
